I have spent a lot of time to see and recognize all the thousands of statements and posts about the new SH_III. I am not a direct linked INTERNET_USER and so I had costs a lot of EUROS!!!
And now I hope somebody of the developers will read this.
The usage of the TDC and the manually bearing and distance of a ship is very good realized.
Also the "Crew_Management".
I had no problems with the installation and no problems with the code, but...
all the questionable things I found are based only playing the "MARINEAKADEMIE".
A realization in a second patch would bring more effort and fun to start a "Karriere".
01.) ALL ENGINES STOP, if I delete all waypoints on the "NAVIGATION_MAP"!
02.) The "UZO" by night is illuminated so much that I can see nearly nothing (why not a RED-LIGHT like inside the boat?).
03.) Setting the "PLAYERS_INTERFACE" off ("NUMPAD_DEL"-key) and using the "DECK_GUN" and after them the "TAB"-key the "DISPLAY" disappears ! Setting the INTERFACE on the "DISPLAY" appears again.
04.) The vertical position (distance) of the "DECK_GUN" (manually use) is not stored. If I use the "BINOCULAR" (B) for a short look around and go back I found always the "DISTANCE" reduced to 300.
05.) The horizontal turn (manual moving port and starboard) of the "DECK_GUN" can not be made slower or faster like the "BINOCULAR" or "UZO" with the "Ctrl/Shift_LEFT/RIGHT" -key! This works only vertical (manualy moving up and down).
06.) On the "DECK_GUN" we miss the bearing scale like on the "BINOCULAR".
07.) "F9" is the key to enter the "RADIO_STATION and SONAR_ROOM", but I am looking in the direction of the "CAPTAINS_ROOM".
08.) The German order of "RUDDER_AMIDSHIP" is: "Ruder mittschiffs" and NOT: "Ruder null Grad" or "null Grad backboard".
09.) The German order of the "TELEGRAPH" ("F5") is: "Ӟußerste Fahrt vorraus" and NOT "wahnsinnige Fahrt voraus"
10.) The German Helmsman calls "RUDDER_COMANDS" different to them shown on the "TELEGRAPH".
11.) On the NAVIGATION MAP the DISTANCES are in KM and NOT in NAUTICAL MILES; but the SPEED on the gauges in KNOTS!
12.) I had sailed to CAPE HOORN and TRISTAN DA CUNHA ISLAND and what wonder there are the best rality I had seen at the moment. Please be so kind and let us see the LATITUDE and LONGITUDE on the WORLDMAP like in the old Silent Hunter II!!!
Some is kindly proposals:
a.) Why no more a key for "VIEW_TO_HEADING" like in SH_I/II?
b.) Why no more a key setting the "HEADING_TO_VIEW" like in SH_I/II?
c.) Why we cannot see a heading scale on the "UZO", "PERISCOPES" and "BINOCULAR" like in SH_I/II?
d.) Why not the distance less than 5 nm im meter and more in NM?
