Great vid though...Not sure why they didn't just hit the AT guns with artillery.

Just hate the idea that only two INF unit types will be available :/

where did you see that there were only 2 types of infantry??
Also that was a fantastic video! I think they should make more like that showing different types of strategies and what each thing does!
And N3V, i think they didnt use Artillery to take it out, because it wasnt just AT Guns, it was also AT Tanks and stuff so it would be a lot harder? thats the only thing i can think of.
I think is this game does well (which from what it looks like so far, it will) they should make the next EW as this is what i was hoping EW would be like except modern/ near future http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I just hope that Inf will have a decent role in the game...And a cover sistem ofcourse(although thats only a lavish wish)
Cuz I hate the idea that tanks will be the main movers of lines

I'm sure you noticed that this game is not Company of Heroes. The units on the map are just representative. So their value counts more than how they look like http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

yeah, it will all depend on the situation.
N3V30
10-17-2009, 11:26 AM
The cover will be situational??
Me thinks the units in cover receive the bonus, but you won't actually see them hiding behind things such as in EW...Old School RTS style.
bruce57

no, the situation, and therefore the out come of a fight, will depend on the cover. that is what i meant.

Did you noticed that, the map is simmetric? I mean, like in the video, this strategy can't be completed on the other side of the map, but the enemy surely can use it too. But the main thing is that you use this strategy, you can only attack the enemy base from it's right side, and you only can be attacked from your right side, because the "ruse grid" is simmetric.

Just because the map is symmetrical, it doesn't mean the strategy can ONLY be done one way. The video was just an example.
If you wanted you could send the decoys and some cheap units up the middle and hit the base with tanks from both flanks.

yeah, i dont think that the fact that the map is symmetrical will have too much of an impact on gameplay.

Think of it a littlebit. If you use Blitz in the centre of the map, your units just go the 1/3 of it's potential, because on the sides you can use Blitz on a larger area, so your units can move faster for greater distance.

What??!?
The center section of that map is a bigger area and I never said use Blitz in the middle, that was the decoy offensive. Plus all the maps won't have the same section layout.

Yes, I know, but what I say is:
If you want to use the strategy shown in the video, then you can do it effectivley from one side because of the layout. Both starting positions are vunerable on their right side, because there is a greater zone that you can use ruses.

Theres 7 sections, 3 on each side and 1 central.
.1 2
3 4 5
.6 7
If the bases are in 2 and 6, they are no less vulnerable on their left flank than their right. The sections on one side are the same size as the ones on the other side.
