It's a review of a BB presentation about s5 and gives a lot of information about what the game is going to be like. It's in german, When I have some time I'll try to translate the most important part, or you can run it trough an online translator yourself.

It basically tells you you start with approximately 20 scenarious and a hero, who has a falcon, the falcon can be use to explore certain areas. You also have a starting fortress, which contains some resources.
From there you can select up to 70 building types, you need sufficient workers, and their well being is a crucial factor in regard to your settlements effectiveness. Also the weather conditions of the areas have an influence on the efectiveness of your productions.
The development of your settlement is not however only advanced by buildings and resources, but also by the university, where you develop special units, such as inventors and scholars, which concerns itself with weather forecast, this is used for various tactical decisions regarding both your production and the fight.
The fight plays a rather subordinate role,in the game, there are 5 different types of contractors,ie infantry, cavalary and artillery.By means of formations a rather tactical note is given to the fights, mass engagements is not in demand.
In Multiplayer there are modes such as Deathmatch or coop, but also competition modes.
The most probable most engraving innovation of the play becomes very clear at first sight, the settlers have dared now to finally step into the world of three dimensionality. On the basis of an optimised Criterion render\ware technology BB lets an affectionately animated 3D-welt develop.

the screenshots look really good, and all the new features you explained make it sound like a really complicated game. good. should mean that it will be very, very hard to master and more than one way of winning (not just who makes the most solies), as well as a bit of tactics involved with war machines etc. also with things like universities and stuff it means that a large settlement will be bursting with different buildings instead of 20 of each one, personally i cant wait.

Translation:
------------
After a long break there r finally now signs of life again in the most popular of German structure strategy games. Bluebyte are uncertan that the fifth edition of the settlers will b available by Winter. Alongside the developers is Bruce Milligan, who worked in Settlers 2 to deal with international support. Milligan was the handyman under strategy Guru Bruce Shelley and was also involved in other games such as Rise Of Nation and other well-known strategy games.
More **** about Milligan...
So whats the emphasis of the new settlers? What does the name suggest? It allows the construction of beautiful settlements with functioning production chains, whereby the races trade and fight. Bluebyte r generally set on less complexity, without however neglecting it. According to their own statements, they want to orient it in a similar style to the basic principles of Settlers 3.
u start with approximately 20 scenarios with a leader, who has a straightened falcon, which can be used for exploring areas using specific abilities. In addition, u start with a fortress defended by a few soldiers, which comes with initial resources that can be used for building. From then on, the growth of buidlings is quite steep. There r approximately 70 building types which can also be upgraded.
Not only do you have to ensure that there are sufficient workers availabel, but their well-being also has a crucial factor in their effectiveneess. The weather conditions of the areas also have an influence on the effectiveness of your production. The development of your settlement is not only advanced by building and resources, but also by a so-called University, into which you can develop new special units such as inventors, scholars and Alchemisten???!. The weather can also b used as a tactical weapon when it comes to production and battle. There are 5 different types of fighting thingies... each with different abailities: contactor, infantry, cavalry and artillery. You can use formations tactically in fights so that huge battles are not always necessary.
In multiplayer mode, Bluebyte have integrated new competition modes whereby players compete by acheiving certain building targets and mergers as well as the typical strategy modes such as Deathmatch or Cooperation.
Probably most entralling innovation of the game is obvious at first sight: The settlers have dared to step into a 3D world!! Bluebyte have created an affectionately animated 3d world based on Criterion RenderWare technology. The graphics make the characters look more grown up. The "wow-factor" is not limited to only this either because there are numerous animations and wild-life in the game world which provide a lively environment. The animations are not only there for aesthetics, but also to give the player visual feedback on how you are managing ur settlement. Units, environment and buildings are very prettily represented with a great attention to detail. After 20 minutes of playing, it is obvious to see that this game is a worthy successor in the Settlers series. We hope that the long break and the immense feedback which was used by developers in the last few parts of development, will regenerate the following of the Settlers games.
