5 days until the release of the Halo Wars demo. 5 days until players waiting for a good console RTS have their wet-dreams. 5 days until Endwar becomes the dust collector on my pile de crap along with Far Cry 2. I have been gone from Endwar for about 2 weeks now and in that time I have realized how good other non-Ubi games really are. Yes I know you will all go nuts about me making this post but face it. Little kids went to JSF because they thought they were cool, most likely they will all buy Halo Wars because Halo is in the title. Sorry to all the good players out there dedicated to this game but face it, Ubi isn't going to fix anything. But then again, you don't care because it takes you only one day nonstop to get all legendaries.
Also Ubi, I would give you more advice on how to make your game semi-bearable for casual players but I am in a different time zone, sorry. See how bad that excuse is Ubi?

You're being ridiculous.
Halo Wars is trying to tell a story, not compete with EndWar. Plus, Far Cry 2 is an amazing game. It might not be the most fun or the most polished, but it brings a LOT of new ideas to the first-person shooter genre on consoles, so don't say it deserves to be in the trash.
EndWar is pure fun, Halo Wars is normal strategy gaming as it's been done hundreds of times before. Trust me, people aren't stupid. They'll realize which game is more fun to play.

If the halo games are half as bad as people keep telling me(and from the few times I played it at the request of a excited fanboy friend) I doubt there is any risk in your community being drained.

I agree, at least that is my impression from previews. Doubt I will get it. Even if I did, I don't think it would compete with End War.

Don't worry I am not. I just want Ubi to make it reach it's fullest potential before other game eat it and throw it up in pure shame.

He's talking about Halo in general. It's pretty mediocre.
Halo Wars definitely just looks like a re skinned C&C3. It truly doesn't look too promising IMHO.

ditch halo expansions all you want, but halo 2 with the incredible matchmaking system takes the prize!
halo 3 is just ridiculous...they were like "uhh... we have so much more processing power! let's add a few colors and not take advantage of it but say we did!...and people bought it"
Halo wars looks EXACTLY like a C&C or age of empires clone with halo skin in the previews. This is HORRIBLE! Hopefully the game will actually be a lot better

lol, believe me! if this game doesn't suck like it looks on the previews it WILL destroy endwar. Not wipe it off the face of the earth, as there will be plenty of players left, but it will take a HUGE chunk of the playerbase if it is any good.
...if Halo Wars gets legitimate (not just because of the name) reviews over an 8 out of 10...expect much longer waiting times

halo wars has this odd look to it, like the colors are too bright and the vehicles are too small. plus, everyone is standing 10 yards from one another and unloading at eachother like its the revolutionary war.
speaking of which, it would be awesome if they brought empire:total war to consoles

Agreed! Im not into those fictional, weird alien games. I like to play with real units. It does look awful.
I will not be buying, nor will i play the demo. Im sticking with End War. Im going to be a "Troll" that just sits in the pregame lobby waiting for a game. I understand all of your points but if you really look at Halo 3 in all of its entirety, no other game has added an "inside the map" map editor, theatre mode, and very reliable MM all in one game. You can point to Far Cry 2 for an amazing map editor but it doesn't have theatre or reliable MM. You can point to Gears 2 for a lame theatre type thing but it doesn't have map editor or as good a theatre as Halo 3. Yes I know some of you hate Halo in general because people will buy anything tagged with Halo but think about it. How many noobs bought Endwar because Tom Clancy's was before it?

Halo Wars is a C&C game with new improvements.
However, it i still a RTS, and it will be a RTS without the severe amount of bugs that EndWar has. It will support, not a translator. Halo Wars will not be the exercise in frustration that EndWar is in trying to find a game. Nor will it be a database programming disaster that EndWar is. On day one, Halo Wars will outclass Endwar simply because it will be playable. It will shave off players because of this.
The real threat to EndWar will be Battlestations: Pacific.

The halo studio is owned by microsoft.
But I really do wish I could run empire total war on the linux OS on my ps3...laptop's not worth **** for games, can't even act as a internet browser without loosing internet access and making me restart it at least once a day...

damn strait i dont know how many people here have played midway but it was the perfect blend of action and stratgy with pacific you add
better graphics
more maps
more units
more units at once
endwar will be simply out classed end of story.

wow love how everybody is like this game will die when it wont and halo is becoming a drag just like all the Saw movies after the 4th one watching the 5th one was like "wow thats all they came up with" thats how halo is and i dont plan on buying it at all
You can all say what you want about me and Halo Wars but the fact of the matter is it boils down to sales and money. Endwar has made little money and poor sales therefore there is no sequel. Halo has sold millions and made millions and has 4 sequels (2,3,3:ODST,Wars). They wouldn't keep making them if they didn't make money... Also, I will be buying both Halo Wars and BS:P because I know they will both be better than Endwar.

Halo was originally planned as a RTS.......I like halo myself and if i had to pick 1 game i would never trade in it would be Halo 3 simply because of the good campaign and the unpredictable moments in multiplayer when Vehicles are in the mix. the Covenant in Halo wars look like blobs of paint in the videos.The grunts look absolutley horrible.But I liked the C&C 3 demo for the 360 so mabye I will get it after I play through the Halo wars demo.Halo is the most popular series on xbox because there are things that happen in Halo that simply cant happen in any other console game.Also the limitless amount of custom games you can make and with Halo 3 bungie can put in special play lists and they do so every weekend and holiday.You cant forget the theater and forge mode.800ms points are actualy worth it for Halo maps since they also bring new forge content.Bungie also gives updates on the game and other projects EVERY friday while other companies give updates that are months apart or non existent.They actualy try to fix and actualy admit some of the problems in thier game and now Halo 3 has lag free matchmaking with no more glitches,simply because they decided to play halo 3 extensivly with thier own internet connection and not on the lag free office internet.They ban cheaters on thier own,they even do the IP/xbox ban what ever they call it.Soon we will be able to convert our videos saved in theater mode for use on the computer,mabye when you see them you will realise why halo is so popular.And I can look at the stats of every game I played on the computer along with the Files made from them(screnshots,videos)and even get downloads from bungie.net straight to my xbox to help keep the game fresh.
Anyways now that im done defending my beloved game once again Im not so sure if Halo wars can compete with endwar because the covenant look like toys and the units are small while endwar is in better detail.But halo wars will most likely be more playable than endwar.If the PC version of endwar is fixed and Im confident that it will be,I would ditch the 360 version real quick since PC games get free DLC unless they are on Windows Live.I love me Some Halo but idk it seems like Halo wars might suck compared to endwar.Simply because endwars camera puts you down with your units making it look more realistc and not playful like other RTS games with the top down view with tiny units.With the server outages,quiters,and unit killing bugs my patience is running out for this game.They better come up for a solution for people who quit after 3 min Im sick of making hard fought come back wins or play long matches then they quit on me.I say make all disconnections a loss unless the tom clancy server message comes up.But sometimes it comes up when the server is not even down so that needs to be looked into also.

Well look. The HaloWars demo comes out ina few days. Let's try to reserve some judgement until after we get a chance to play it for free. Does that sound like the smart thing to do?
