I'll disagree with you there.

It depends on who your playing and how long they have been playing. All because you met a bunch of guys who use Sub's don't mean its the only gun used.

I've been having trouble against shotguns and assault guns...and sometimes riot shields.

so...ya. I prefer to differ in saying they are great oo.

For up close, it's the thing to have. At distance, it's not adequate for the job and very inaccurate. Seems realistic to me. Don't get mad because people use what they prefer.

I played a used roit shield and pistol with heavy armour, no sub's could kill me.
Also I play using shotguns, if my shot is on target i get the kill even if they fired first.

The P-90 is very very unaccurate, Just duck and the spray is too much, they will miss.

If anything I think the snipers are under powered.

Yeah, I disagree.

THough, it does feel like a few of them can be overpowering, their are some solid rifles that get the job done too. I run with the G3KA4 and I shred with it.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

This really isn't intended as a complaint, but rather a chance to discuss the Sniper Rifles in the Multiplayer Demo with some of you.

I'm a big fan of Sniper Rifles in general in any game- and that includes all of the Rainbow series. However, I am having more than a little trouble using one successfully in the demo. That is, it's not that they're completely useless, but I can't find any particular place where a sniper rifle is better to have than an assault rifle, where I can just equip a scope and switch to single shot mode, and maintain a fair amount of accuracy.

On another note, how is the PSG not simply better than the other sniper rifles? It does a little less damage, yes, but the time you save in between shots seems... well, necessary. Particularly since the only way to really be effective with a sniper rifle is to get a head shot anyway, and all of them kill at the same speed for that.

It is possible, of course, that a sniper rifle just isn't as effective on this map as it will be in others.

Thoughts?

Well if you're playing Offense on Assault, then the rooftop is great with the sniper rifle. It's a bit tricky to get a clear shot down below on the Slot's floor, but you can do some solid damage.

If you were on Defense, the Best thing to do is get straight up to the roof, fast. I got up there quite a few times with my rifle and waited out the Offense team from above. One round I had 4 guys pinned on the roof and got them all (including the opponent with the case). So the sniper rifle can do some damage, just need to put logic behind

Yah, I'm hoping that the retail version's sniping is a bit more refined and smoother than the demo. Regardless of what SWS you choose you shouldn't have to spend 4-5 rounds to take someone down, armor or not, and especially if you are using a bolt-action. I think when playing a sniper the maps have a huge impact of course. I suppose they have made the sniper rifls balancd as not to have everyone running around with them, they balanced all wapons as to not give an unfair advantage.

I feel that the Mac-11/9 is too powerful.

Everyone else is dead in co-op, so I figure, what the hell, the Mac-11 sucked in RS3BA but puts out lead like none other: Time for me to die in glorious battle! Picked one up and managed to play through for about five minutes as though it were Halo 2 or a John Woo film. I finally got killed when I (purposefully) ran into a room full of Tangos and stood in the open and then, after I got a couple of them, I died. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You need to remember too that this is just one level and so you will only see certain types of guns being used alot because they fit the need of whats best for the level. Sub machine guns and Shotty's. There is hardly any open sights on the level unless your on the roof. So i think you'll see it level out with other levels. Also if people are running up on you than A. Your by yourself and they can do that or B. you arent using cover very well. Run and gunners should not be surviving at all in this, I have seen people run and gunning and they have been owned because i have a team that works together maybe one person dies but the run and gunners die too, all 4 of em.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif i like it.

The Mac-11 is a bullet hose. It was actually used for training to take-down airliner hostage situations.

At the ranges you're getting kills with it, it is very deadly.

I find that if I try to make distant shots with it, it is ineffectual.

Which leads me to a question. If a target is beyond a weapon's range, does that mean a hit will never do any damage? Is it like Halo in that respect? I think I noticed that my reticles didn't turn red when I tried to shoot enemies beyond the Mac-11's range.

If that is the case, it is not at all realistic. Most weapons are rendered ineffective over distance by their degrading accuracy, not by the bullets losing their speed (and thus their lethality). Shotguns don't do well at extended range because the mass of scattered lead spreads out too much to have a lethal collective impact on the same target.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

And i will also confess. I use the Mp 9 or whatever that thing is...and its my decisions that basically tell me if I pull a kill off, or die doing something stupid.

I've been suceeding with it so far because I've managed to surprise people. But the good players have been able to take me down before i could get close...so ya...not over powered.

If you guys cant agree on what is the uber overpowered of excellence im happy, means the gun balancing is decenthttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

and yes generally speaking

SMG are accurate but not too far,
Assaults are good all around
Shotguns dominate dmg up close
LMG dominate ROF at medium distance
Sniper dominates long range
Pistol is medium range,high power.

Enjoy!

Any possible reasons why this might be happening? Every time I get killed, the game just freezes

I thought that the subs were going to dominate as well. I used them exclusively for the first few days, but then I started getting wasted by shotguns and assault rifles. The low accuracy and high recoil of the subs really balance them well. Now when I am selecting my loadout I have a tough time choosing what to use.

Well it is one map in the demo. Maybe the other maps have better spots or have a better advantage for snipers?

this map isn't great for sniping of course

however, I was playing and there was a guy on the other team who was using the scout tactical indoors and got 6-7 one shot kills over 2 games. He was quite effective.

And I disagree that a single shot assault rifle is just as effective.
