Anybody have any ideas on multiplayer modes they would like to see in HAWX?

I'd like to see an attack and defend mode where the defense needs to protect an AWACS or maybe a plane carrying a VIP

Another attack and defend scenario I would like to see is a ground attack. The defenders would be all air-to-air but the attackers would need a few bombers and the rest would be air support.

Any other ideas? And just to be clear, this isn't "official" in any way, just throwing some ideas out there.

Well, depending on how many players online it will be, I'd like to see bombers and fighters. Attack and Defend would be cool. I'd like to go up in a B-2 Stealth, while my friends escort me to the target.

Both OGF and AC6 had some very good siege gametypes, and fairly similar. OGF you had to attack while defending your base and carrier group...only problem is there were only 2 of you on a team. There were automated defenses though, so that was really nice.

AC6 had a good one, you were *either* attacking or defending, and then swapping sides. Problem there: you didn't have to escort a bomber since the aircraft carried the "all purpose" short range missiles. You had full teams though.
Both games had multiple objectives to take out, which I liked. OGF let you land at your base, carrier, or the neutral middle island. Options is what it's all about. Don't make it a simple minded game. Every game out there has deathmatch, I'm sick of it. Mimic the missions these aircraft actually go on.

I'd like a blend of the OGF and AC6 games. Attack or defend, but with full sized teams and A-10's or some full on bombers to escort into battle. Make it strategic, make teamwork a MUST for the game. Don't reward shoot downs, or at least not much, give the win to the team that completes the *objective*.

And give us some MAPS. AC6 came with 1 siege map, and OGF came with only 1 for that game type as well. Even in a flight game a change of scenery goes a long way.

How about a map with a convoy escort/attack as one of the missions?

Yeah, the 2 per team thing did suck. I wish it had been 8 per team. 2 teams total. I wish I could have gotten to play the multiplayer in Ace Combat, but I sent the game back to GameFly when I realized you couldn't set your throttle. Once I saw you had to hold a button down to maintain your speed, I took the game out, stuck it back in the sleeve, and sent it back. Over G did it right. I could set my throttle at a desired speed, leave the tv, come back, and the plane would still be at that speed.

I'd really like to see full support of squadrons. I don't know how many of you have played it, but one thing I liked about Ace Combat 5 was how it had squadron members in green boxes, while allies were blue and enemies were red as usual.

Adding the same concept to online to tell the difference between regular teammates and fellow squadron members would be a very nice touch.

Things definitely need to be done that just force people to work as teams. With the squad I'm in for Ace Combat, playing Siege mode is great since we have assigned roles and use the radio a lot, so similar missions would be good online. Really, anything that incorporates both air and ground, support systems, and two at least 8 player teams at the same time should be great. One problem in particular that Ace Combat has is that in Team Deathmatches, everyone goes to one area and gets caught in a furball. Somehow making it so battles stay spread out but still use teamwork would be great as well.

TDM is the bane of my online gaming existence.
I agree, make MP a team event. Some kind of IFF showing your wingman and a different one for your team would be nice (really need names for good communication). Forcing teams into pairs of wingmen in the lobby sounds like it should be standard.

Would also be nice to have a "slot" for an A-10 or a bomber (minimum, possibly more) that one person from each team has to take before the game will launch. The rest have to defend him/them. No points for kills, just succeed or lose. Giving points for kills just ensures that the rest of the team will play solo looking for kills, and disregard the real objective of bombing the enemy base.

How about a mode that u must destroy the enemies ground team while u also must protect ur own ground team. Win conditions destroy blue or red teams ground force or destoy blue or red air support. Ur lives are limited and also ammo

i like the VIP idea and i would also be fun to be able to create your own game types like in halo

I'd like to see a mode with a strong emphasis on Co-Op (not just the campaign in Co-Op) like Horde mode or Nazi Zombies

i would like a mode that takes strategy and team work. a min of 4 players maybe a max of 8, maybe more. over the course of a certain time limit the entire map you would receive a call from an AWAC for ground support or air support. you have a time limit to get there, and to complete the mission, and maybe limited munitions. maybe half of the missiles in the main campaign or the real number of munitions. this way people could use whatever plane they wanted, to best complete the strikes. you would need fighters for intercepts, or strikes across the map. a-10s for close heavy ground support from tanks, troops in bunkers, or helicopters. and ubi could make it work with ERS. ers could show you the best way to get to your target. startegy, teamwork, and different aircraft would be needed.

Ahhh i remember Ace Combat. Get a few buddies in the plane with the laser and get me and my friend with the stealth bomber with a laser guided bomb and he had 2000lb and we just destroyed all planes and stuff

ghost recon has firefight where you team up with your friends and kill any number of tangos on any map. rainbow six vegas has the same thing but it's called terrorist hunt. hawx should add a co-op game mode like this. obviously with a crap load of planes to take down. could be alot of fun

I like the idea of co-op siege games. I wouldn't say just completely remove XP for kills; just have it really tiny. Eg. kills normally only get 1 or 2 xp. Killing an enemy going after you gets double that. Killing an enemy going after the assault plane (A-10A/bomber/whatever it is) gets 4x. Winning gets an 8x multiplier to your total xp.

That way people are encouraged to go after the enemies going after important targets (the one for yourself just seems to make sense since it shows you obviously don't suck completely and you're keeping yourself in the game), and there is a HUGE incentive to win, and people are rewarded according to how much they actually do for the win.

But that's just my opinion.
