Has anyone noticed that when you dive, and if your in the control room, the sub TILTS the wrong way.
Here is what I mean, if your in the control room looking at your two guys that have the wheels (not sure if they are helmsmen?). Now order a Crash dive... a dive that has the steepest descend angle. The sub should tilt toward the bow of the sub. But what happens is the sub actaully seems to be tilting to the stern, like the sub is diving stern tubes first into the water. Also look at the wurst, ham, and hanging banannas.. they should be tilting to the FRONT of the sub right?? But they are tilting to the BACK of the sub...
Also if you watch the hanging food during a storm... as the ship rolls left and right...the hanging food goes the wrong way. The ship rolls to the left, and the food goes to the right.
No big deal here as far as bugs go...but it does ruin a part of the imersion into the sim when you crash dive and the sub seems to be in a crash surface angle

Check again. I find the camera movement inside the boat during a rapid dive or ascent is disorenting, but not really sloped in either direction, up or down. However I am absolutely certain that, at least in the VIIb, the food in the back does in fact tilt in the appropriate direction.

Yes it does tilt in the wrong direction......the engines go down first.

There's been some talk about this in the past.
Anyway, you SURE the food is tilting the wrong way? The sonar room is toward the bow. The sausages have always tilted there for me.
Some people have also suggested that it looks like you're tilting the other way because of how if you were actually tilting you'd be leaning over kind of and... the camera is... I dunno, it's hard to explain.
But I think in the end it was decided by most that it was tilting the right way.

Yeah, it IS kind of disorientating. But I think you need to remember that we're supposed to be inside the U-boat and therefore we're tilting with the u-boat.

In the Type IIa I was just in it is backwards
In my new Type VIIb the tilting is correct.

I will have to look at it again in something other than a XXI (should have kept my IX-D2...disappointed in XXI due to long rechartge times)as there is no hanging food in it.
Sailor Steve says in the Subsim forums that if you look one way (at planesman) the sub does in fact tilt the wrong way (engines dive first)... but if you look the opposite direction it is correct (towards WO and Nav).
THe best way to see this is to look at your Planesmen while in a crash dive. You CAN see an angle..and that angle gives the appearance of you diving engines first.
I think in a dive the food does dangle the right way (leaning towards the Sonar room..). but in rough seas if you click on the hatch that says (Interior Aft or Stern something like that) then turn around, you can see your Helmsman at the other end of the Command room. Now if you watch you can see the sub roll with the waves. But when the sub rolls left (port) seeb when looking forward at your helmsman, you can see the food pointing (swinging) in the opposite direction.

True dat Wihelm....
I REALLY wish they would fix the Fuel Range of the IX-D2 (and any other sub that this is bad) AND the XXI batt recharge problems!!
I was just wondering if anyone else noticed the wrong sub tilting or if I was just loosing my mind.
