After the announcement of KIMI as RSE community developer i've put 2 and 2 together to come up with what some would say is just plain crazy talk. But here goes anyway.

Combine the following:

Rumour that RSE will be making the entire next Ghost Recon game.

Warfighters letting slip that a Ghost Recon game would be released in 2008.

Kimi being made RED STORM COMMUNITY DEVELOPER ( note not UBI or GRAW 2 ) right before 2008.

This announcement was made in the PC and Console forums. RSE has nothing to do with GRAW 2 PC.

The fact that KIMI is very well respected and well known in the old skool Ghost Recon community.

The fact that GRAW 2 has been largely leaning to old skool maps.

The co-op collection has dissappeared of the map.

Right i've combined them and I get this:

RSE will be making Ghost Recon 4 ( not GRAW3 ). The complete GR4. Campaign and Multiplayer for Consoles and PC. Kimi will act as the face of GR4 on the forums and I'd guess on the vids too since serellan is gone. Also Ghost Recon 4 will be far more realistic in nature. A return to the special ops that were present in the older games.

I'd even go as far to say that UBI are considering leaving the co-op maps for GR4. So that GR4 ships with lots more maps and has an even more old skool feel. I mean the old skool maps wont save or pretty much do anything for GRAW 2. Im afraid that game is dead as a doornail.

Sounds crazy? I told you I need my medication.

Not crazy, I can see RSE making GR4, but "the maps are on the way" and "should be here soon".

Well, if Ubi and RSE didn't have a history of completely scrapping games (GR2 PC) and misleading gamers - either by intention or by fault - we wouldn't be seeing crazy speculation threads and Paladin wouldn't be wondering if he needs his loony meds. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

As it stands, I would bet we will still be seeing the co-op maps for GRAW2. However, given history, we can't rule out they are never going to show.

That being said, saving them for GR4 seems unlikely, unless RSE plans on using the same engine or a very similar engine for GR4. Otherwise saving them does little good because with a new engine they would have to be retooled again anyway. Wouldn't they?

And Grin, the company that made GRAW 1 & 2 for pc, is now working with top Japanese publisher Capcom to develop the highly anticipated Bionic Commando. Maybe they are not working with UBISOFT any more.

One more reason that maybe RSE is working on the PC-version as well.

GRIN is a big studio.. I think it's too early to rule anything in or out at this point.

GR3 was GRAW, the first was Ghost Recon, second Ghost Recon 2, 3rd = Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Each had a follow up title i.e. Island Thunder, Summit Strike and GRAW 2 so in theory the next title would be GR 4, note i say theory i dont have any knowledge of what future plans are or are not in the pipeline

I know they were calling it GR3 at first, but sense it changed to GRAW wouldn't it be GRAW1 not GR3? If you considered it GR3 then wouldn't GRAW2 have been GR4. Oh wow, I'm really confused. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Maybethe first GRAW should have had the box read "Ghost Recon 3:Advanced Warfighter" that would've cleared up.

Since you are arguing this, you are obviously not an old school Recon player. GRAW is GR3. Get it right. Only reason they named it GRAW was because the Frenchy French Men over at the Paris studios decided they wanted to screw up one of the greatest games ever conceived. That's why I hope, if it's true, when RSE makes the next Recon(THE WHOLE RECON, NOT HALF, BUT ALL OF IT), that they will call it GR4, OR

Ghost Recon: The Way It Should Be With Out The ******ation Of The Frenchy French Men Of The Paris Studios. Now that's a title I'd like to see on the box cover for the next Recon. Sorry, but I have alot of hatred for those who screwed up Recon with the dumbest, most ******ed singleplayer experience ever.

I disagree and I hope I'm right, just because I hope that GR:4 will be running on a new more complex engine that will run @ 60 frames per second. And if a new engine were to be made it MAY not be possible or easy to have the old maps compatible. I hope the new GR will be swell :-D

I wouldn't count on Ubisoft passing up a chance to sell this DLC to a few MILLION people just so they could make our next game extra super duper. No sir. If it were done they would liquidate it immediately, then still double dip those profits later with GR3, with a reissue map pack for THAT game. (even though it would probably be just a straight port, new engine or not.)

I wish Paladin's theory were true, as it would herald the imminent release of the next game, like "Oh it's just so close to the next game, let's just wait on it and release them together." Wishful thinking, I'm afraid.

So let me get this straight, they are going back to what the game used to be, which was first person, but will most likely have a weapon view. On top of that, since i would assume they would go back to the way things were, the campaign levels will also be playable as well as seperate mulitplayer maps. I just hope that they go totatlly back to the way maps and things were made.

Although I fear draw distance will be a constant issue. I have one idea to solve this issue, if the grass doesn't work, don't put it in. No sense in feeling like your being sneaky sneaky when in fact you stick out like a sore thumb. God forbid that you make the grass like a really big bush, I think the 360 could handle it.

I wonder if they'll make us earn guns by playing the campaign or have us go through the pointless ranking thing that seems to be plaguing the online community. Rank doesn't mean **** to me, the only thing that matters is having the guns available.

Good to see Kimi hasn't been scared off though by these rumour posts, lol, love ya kim, see ya online sometime.

Peace
