I was playing a game the other day and when jumping on a merc, he shot and killed me while in the air. Then my body landed on him and it didn't do anything. Do you think that if this happens, your dead body should still knock out the merc?

In a word: no. In more words, I say take out anything that promotes playing the game in a manner it wasn't meant to be played. I feel jumping on mercs heads promotes aggressive spy behavior (I understand the point of it in a real game, but I see it as a small sacrifice to promote better overall gameplay). The only way mercs should be physically affected by spies is: sticky shocker, smoke, a dazing elbow, and chokehold (KO only, no neck-breaking).

Who decides how it was meant to be played? You? A skillful merc wil always win against an aggro spy. If you're getting annihilated by spies, you either suck, or you have to tip your hat to the guy that showed how good he is. I'm tired of people *****ing about aggressive spies. If they're killing you, practice as merc. Damn, you play spies all the damn time, and this will happen.

Good point curious. When I got the game all I played was mercenary and became amazing. I have gotten 8 kill games without spawn killing. I'm a pretty good spy. I attract the merc versus going after him.

Exactly. Since everyone likes playing as spies, I learned how to play merc pretty well since that's the team I always wound up on. It's not hard to take out aggro spies as long as you're awar of your surroundings.

The best is when they're chasing you, and you just jump and jump and jump until you jump towards one of your mines. They get killed, and you escape with a sliver of life left http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think its a good thing spies can break necks personally, gets Mercs new gear.. thats the point too, it basically penalises you for it.. however, knocking people out is too dangerous IMO at times, specially on say, Sabotage, you knock em out they get back up and f*ck you, you kill em you can at least hold em off for a bit longer.

Curious, you make a good point. But thanks also for assuming my play style. I usually play merc more as I find it less stressful and more fun than spy. I also readily admit that I'm still a beginner. The reason for this is because I don't play much--due a lot to having to spend most of the time playing with/against aggro-spies. Now, the point may very well be that aggro-spies are fairly easy to deal with if I were to become good as a merc (even at my level, I'm not too bad against them). However, that's NOT the point. The point is, why should I be forced to waste my time playing a style I absolutely hate? It's pretty obvious what Ubi's general intention was with how the game should be played, given the total lack of true offensive weaponry the spies have.

I understand some people's desire to play deathmatch and I'm not saying they shouldn't. I'm saying that I seriously doubt that was what Ubi had in mind when they created the game. Instead of being the "default" game that most people play, it should be stated very explicitely in the lobby before the game starts.
