I thought it would be cool to find out where everyone plans on setting out in search of prey on their first patrol, now that its 9 days away here in the States.

Assuming we start in September/October 39 I plan on loitering around the English coast and the Low countries looking for Allied transports

In the "dead zone" between the UK and USA. Until 1942, at which point I plan on getting a Type IX and wreaking havoc off the coast of Florida. Maybe I'll shell Pensacola while I'm at it (have an ex who lives there http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif)

Wont there be orders to follow? I seem to have that impression. Maybe they will be vague enough to allow us to go where we want.

iirc, the devs said you would get orders from BdU, but were free to go on patrol wherever you wanted.

furthermore, if you chose not to follow BdU's orders, and you have an unsuccessful patrol, it could be straight to the Russian Front for your kalue.

Off the cost of North America generally. Florida, maybe I'll check up and take a few rounds out of the Statue of Liberty. And then loiter at the mouth of the St. Lawrence river (I know I spelt that wrong)just waiting for some pray to fall into my hands.

well, defection certainly is a plausable idea.. even in the beginning, the official site of sh3 asked what would u do if u were at the last days of ww2 with a type XXI.. one of the options was defect to argentina i believe.. so, i suppose that option would be available..

LOL!! Diveplane, that is funny!
I would do that same, because that statue was built in FRANCE ~ by a secret society of Freemasons knows as "Le Grand Orient".

Yes, the statue of libery was built in france and shipped to the USA. In it's hand it holds the Torch of "Illumination". Anyone who loves conspiracies will love this - It's the illuminati conspiracy everyone is talking about.
Go inside the statue of libery and you will see a 'plaque', a stone which says by whom it was built and donated ... It's a French thing!
It does not symbolize nationhood but the new world order! LOL. hahhaahah

Statue of Liberty - Semiramis
The Statue of Liberty is another Brotherhood symbol highlighting the lighted torch. The Statue of Liberty is actually the Statue of Liberties - the liberties perpetrated on the American people by the Brotherhood. There she stands on her island in New York Harbour holding her torch of freedom and Americans believe she is the symbol of their liberty in the Land of the Free. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Statue of Liberty was given to New York by French Freemasons and her mirror image stands on an island in the River Seine in Paris These statues of liberty are representations of Queen Semiramis and Isis et al, with the rays of the Sun around her head. The ancients symbolized the Sun in this way. And they are not holding the torch of liberty, but the torch of the illuminated ones, the reptilian Elite. The Statue of Liberty is a Brotherhood symbol which says: We control this country and we are telling you so, but you are too stupid to see it!

That's true you know, London is the capital of all of that. "The bank of England", the enlightened ones, the Knight Templars..(who created the modern banking system) ..Switzerland.where all the banks are, always stays neutral..no wars ever happen there.. Man, it's one BIG conspiracy! It is all related! [hey I got most of David Ickes books by the way.] My mom paid a 70$ ticket just to watch him speak,..the room was full of people..
This guy knows stuff.

Yeah.. the skull and bones... Bush and his staff are in it.
There is another thing..it's been proven in a book..which everybody who reads it give it 5 stars cause it's so credible..
All American presidents are related by blood. The guy shows geneit trees, and proves it. They are all inter related. In theory anyone can become US president, in reality not everyone does. The same with the coucil on foreign relations, and these other think tanks of rich politicians and bankers!

interesting... i'll have to look up this.. 'illuminati' something simmilar to the 'stone masons' perhaps? just when u thought its deep enough, u get something deeper http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

yeah it gets really deep when you look at our symbols, like our currency, seals, layouts of the capital,'whitehouse',the eagle with the arrows and olive branches etc.(ever notice wich way the eagles head is pointing during times of conflict and peace?)The majority of our founding fathers were all masons. It does get pretty deep. enjoy your research http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Delfin1941

Blue, I'll describe to you quickly what the Illuminati were, because I don't want to be off topic for too long.
The man who created this movement was a jewish intellectual named Adam Weisshaupt, who lived in Germany, in Ingolstadt Bavaria something like 3 Centuries ago..sometime in the late 1700's when America was made a country, and when the French Revolution happned.

He was highly educated, but used his intelligence for the most ..evil things...
Read this.. (this guy was not sain, but he was quit serious with the goals he wanted to achieve)

*His theory was that all who have tried to 'Conquer the World in the past, have failed, because they had done it the wrong way".
They had failed because they tried to take over the world with armies,..ie: by force...
Naturally people would resist and fight back...and so this would never work.
He said the only way to conquer the world...to have..ie: a "World government" is if the peoples themselves want that..or see that there is no other way... The only way to make peoples do that was to make them fight one another..through war...to exhaust them in endless conflict and bloodshed, to "help them kill one another better".. In the end they would be so exhausted and they would want something to be done.. It's called problem reaction solution.. (look it up).
So basically he tough that two sides in a conflict should be armed well and financed and unleashed on eachother..
[This man existed, it's no joke,..and yes...these kind of things they talked about in 18th century europe..

This guy, Weisshaupt hated royal monarchies of Europe, and the Church, and nationhood.
(A Frenchman that discovered this conspiracy published a book called "Proof of a conspiracy against all governments and religions of Europe)

You'r asking how is this related to Silent Hunter III. ..Well, if this is true..then world war 1, and 2...were caused because of this guy's 'followers' who have achieved powerfull positions in governments worldwide. Well, if it's true..this whole Uboat war and battle of the Atlantic were a result of this.. and not just that but the French Revoltion as well, (Weisshaupt was friends with the revolutionaries that overthrew the king)..and the Russian revolution as well that established communism in Russia and overthrew the king (czar). It's pretty scarry, everything links up so perfectly..
Something like this that can stirr up world wars or make governments fall, does not buid up over night.. It must have taken hundreads of years.. and money..
money is the main source of power

But it's a hot topic, and we can discuss it somewhere else:
Here is that stone about the statue of liberty.
You can see for yourself the text and the symbols on it.
http://www.freemasonrywatch.org/statue_of_liberty.html

http://img240.exs.cx/img240/8047/libertyplaque19co.jpg

PS: Take a US 1$ Dollar Bill. Look in the right corner beside the "1". You will see an OWL.
"It's symbolism for "the one that can see in the dark" ...guess how many poeple know that.
Believe me it's true,..I'll scan you one of my dollars to prove it.

Being such a prominant symbol of freedom and liberty in the US, i'd say the 'Statue of Liberty' would be a good target to inflict a morale blow on the enemy.

I'd definitely shell her.

Little interest in shelling Liberty statue or Big Ben, for me; I'd prefer the usual "sinking ships" duty to any propaganda's strange action.

If and when possible, even by different captains and lives, I wish to explore the whole world at war; I'm really fascinated by indian ocean (never seen until now), less by atlantic and med (already seen in games or in real life).

I know very little of sub history, but would the Mediterranean be good hunting grounds? It would seem to be with all of the British goods coming from their colonies in the east...or would they come around the Horn?

Mediterranean was a good hunting ground, with lot of convoys and battle units fighting for Africa and Malta.

On the other side, it was a really dangerous sea for subs: mind to Gibraltar strait, and to the excellent aerial coverage quite everywhere.

My first hunt, in Type II, probably North Sea near norway i think!

Later with bigger boats I'll roam into the Atlantic, patrol near Africa, or near Florida, Carribean!

Indian Ocean sounds interesting too, going to Penang (sp) in Indonesia with a type IX.

I really wish the pacific had been included. Id love to linger around Australia and New Zealand.... it wouldve been so wonderful.
And yes, Uboats did play a role off the New Zealand coast. in fact sometime after the war had finished a freighter hit a mine planted by a German Uboat!!! Cool stuff huh!
(This mine was maybe 2km at hte most off the New Zealand coast!!!!)

With such large oceans, are there ports of call to re-supply from other than your home base?

What about re-supply at sea? If possible...would you radio HQ and wait to recieve a rendezvous point from them?
