Patrol area off Honsho Island

I made a fleeting reference to this in another post but here is my dillema.

I am ordered to patrol the area off Honsho Island (Japan's southern Island) and I have been doing so for a few days but for some reason the objective is still incomplete.

I have 1 remaining torpedo left, I have sunk about 11 ships in this area and still I'm left to complete this mission. Does anyone know how to fulfill these types of objectives?

Hey goose,

Theres been a number of questions on this, no one really seems to know the answer, though there has been some very good suggestions/probing in the cfg files. The below forum topic had some ideas from veovis39 and others. Maybe give her a bump as this is one with no certainty.
