Hello.

I dont get the demo to start, after the Nivial intro i see the mouse changes to a glove for 1 second then i get thrown back to the desktop.

My speccs are:

P4 3.2ghz
1024 DDR
ATI X800XT PE
Soundblaster Audiology 2

Laterst DirectX version and latest ATI Driver.
Got the latest Audiologi 2 driver too.

Is latest Nvidia drivers necessary? my graphics card is working fine in other games.

similar problem, but i can enter the game, but after i done loading the map for campain or custom, then it crashes. but i can play the online dual no problem though...... Some1 said it's because of im using labtop, is it true or not?

Got no codec packs.. once I had Nemo but that messed all my 3g movies up so now I'm not using any codec pack. Trying ffd-show now.

There is one, but it ends with "starting autoexec.cfg" or something (no errors). And when I check in autoexec.cfg there is nothing strange there.

Try no running the beta driver but the lates offical driver.

Installed 61.77 and reinstalled the game. Still got the same problem as always. Game closes without an error message after the ubisoft and the other intro. i have even more strange experienc.
on my pc that is 5 months old - dell 3.2ghz, 1g mem, intel 82915g... video, win.media center+sp2 the game crashes at loading the scenario and i'm getting the standart wicrosoft program crash window. when trying multiplayer, i was able to start a battle and then it crashed the same way.
in the same time i installed the game on my son's pc that is 4 years old - 2ghz, 1g mem, nvidia 5700 with more than an year old drivers and there everything is perfect.
does it mean that in order to play this demo we must have old pcs???

Okay, I see the splash screen, and hear a broken sound file for the credit screen. If I click through it, there is no error report; it just crashes. If I let it play, I get an error report. Looking at the details, it involves this file:

C:\DOCUME~1\Primary\LOCALS~1\Temp\e07b_appcompat.t xt

Hope that's of some use--sorry if I'm out there; this is my first post.

OK. I finally got it to work. All by listening to Unreal_az (sorry man, couldn't come back the other day on irc) and Znork.

First of all. Here are my specs and the problem:

Specs:
P4 2.4ghz
512 ddr ram
GF 4800 TI

Problem:
Can't get to the menu. Only saw the splash screen (1 demon) and 2 intro movies (ubisoft and Nival) and then I crashed.

Fix:
I'm not sure what it was that really helped me. But here is what I did, step by step:

1. Reinstalled my beta NVIDIA drivers for the official ones.
2. Got multilanguage fix for my directx -&gt; http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyI...54203&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=FB73D860-5AF1-45E5-BAC0-9BC7A5254203&displaylang=en)
3. Uinstalled all my codecs and installed K-lite full -&gt; http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
4.Most important?!!??! Installed Windows XP SP 2 (thx for convincing me on irc Unreal_az)

Now it runs perfectly on my sucky comp. Thanks again! If you guys lived in Sweden I would have bought you some beers.

Um ok i think after somebody else can cofirm it (guys who have sp1 try to upgrade) the xp sp2 as necessary.
The only things sp2 installs besides security patches and dx90c is the firewall that can be disabled easily. I've been using the sp2 since it apeared and haven't had any problems.

So anyone who can upgrade plz do it and reply here if it helps.

The thing is for Belk wouldn't run before doing the 4th step as he said and i also think because this occurs on radeons too it's gotta be sp2. I'm 95% sure now.

You say you have this:
intel 82915g... video - is this a integrated video card that perhaps uses shared ram?
I say this cause i think your problem is that the game can't understand your video card.

Even though the other computer is older it's in specs so that's why the game runs on it.

Integrated video cards are bad :|.
Unfortunately i haven't had intel yet and i can't say if your g-card is integrated or not. I will get back to you in a while. After a documentation on intel video cards http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

unreal_az, ty for the answer. you are right that the video is integrated on the mb. and i'm nearly sure that this causes the prob. the strange thing is that i have all the dx90c installed and diagnostics shows no probs. it is stupid in this case that this game examines hw and no sw as most of the other games do.
i'm really disappointed as this is my favourite game for years. no trick comes in mind.
any suggestions???

If it's a shared ram video card try sharing 128 ram from bios.

this i do not understand.
the video card is said to be with 128Mb.
i walked the whole bios but found no place for memory sharing or similar.
