wen it comes to the most challenging games modes of graw2, solo elimination requires more skill than team elimination.

Yeah but it ruins the whole punchline when you have to explain that fact to someone http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Solo is great if you like getting shot in the back by someone who spawned behind you. I don't think solo works very well in this game. For me solo is just a fun activity to kill some time. Team games are where the competition is at.
You ARE right that if your team performs badly you may lose. You are also right that you and you alone determine the outcome of........the outcome of the match. Sorry I had to repeat myself because you can't hear people in this game when you die...btw you died because someone shot you in the back while you were in an engagement with another player. Sorry your skill couldn't save you from the dumb luck of a random spawn. Solo elimination is not entirely about skill you see pure dumb luck plays a large role in the outcome of the game.

I never really considered GRAW to be a game of 'skill' in the same way that most twitch shooters are (i.e. Halo, COD). I think tactics are the name of the game here. In my experience a tactical player with average aiming skills will generally beat an accurate shooter who runs around mindlessly gunning. This isn't always the case in Halo where it's possible to sprint around shooting people in the head with a BR or no-scoping with the sniper. I find that one very good player can beat a whole team in games like Halo but it is harder to do in GRAW - although still possible. I know this is a bit of an simplified explanation but what I guess I'm saying is that this game is first and foremost a team game for me because pulling off headshots from 100 metres is less important than simply keeping all directions covered. I find that I can play with a fairly average friend in GRAW and they will still be beneficial in protecting the base and keeping watch - unlike in other shooters where they just become a liability to the team.

BS. Solo elimination takes NO skill. You can just run around and not worry about dying. It doesnt count against you. If you lost a point every time you died then solo elimination would mean something

Given that this game isn't as dependant on razor sharp reflexes in the same way games like Halo are, it comes down to tactical manouevres and flanking, etc. The only tactical moves I can see as being useful in solo are camping (i.e. in a good vantage spot) or run n' gunning. Team tactics are ncessarily absent when you haven't got a team.

IMHO Solo mode is ridden with the run'n'gun players, and it really doesn't belong in a Tac sim of any sort.
as to camping... that doesn't apply to tac sims in any mode whatsoever really, seeing as it IS a legit tactic since the name of the game is meant to be survival of the most tactile, not fittest (or having the better rocket launcher as it is in other games)or rack as many kills as you can in as little time as you can. Again i ask, how many real snipers run around looking for people to shoot? IIRC they wait for days, if not weeks, just to get 1 shot at some fool who'd walk right into their sights.
i mean, whats a better tactic, running around like a chicken with its head cutoff and looking for your enemy who's probably out to kill you too, or having patience and waiting for him to mindlessly walk right into your crosshairs.

yes its kinda cheap, but its true to this games original designs.
otherwise it'd be a complete slaughterfest, and promote the further degradation of the GR series into the same arcade designs that Rainbow Six has gained :/

only "camping" thats really not on the legit plate as par gaming etiquette is spawn raping/camping
