GUESS NO ONE CAN HELP

I posted this yesterday but no one has got back to me.............Guess no one can help!

Hi Guys, I have just purchased and downloaded HAWX. I am so dissapointed as it will not work.
1- It takes a very long time to load and when it does i have the choose of only 1 mission . I must fly the us/mexico boarder.
Problem is the planes are flying across my screen so slowly that a snail could (not kidding) walk across the screen faster.
Also lots of black screens and the only way out of the program is several control/alt/del s.
I would be thankfull for any help. I know nothing about games, my first game (purchased last week) is il-2 sturmovik 1946 and it works great.
Computer is a new.
Gateway FX6000
running vista with a new Radeon HD4850 vidio card with 512MB.

Did you update your game using the GameUpdater provided with the game?
Did you install the latest drivers for your graphic card?
Did you update your DirectX?
Did you run the game in DX9 or 10?

OK, Thanks for getting back to me. I am totaly lost as this is only the second game that i have ever purchased/played. I found the problem. It will not work in vista 64 so i changed to xp2 compatability mode and it works just great!
Only thing is how do i change missions? every thing is greyed out exepting the one mexic border mission.

OK. Guess the word 'missions' was in correct. I should have said that the game will only allow me to play the Ghost Rider campain. Both 'single mission' and 'free flight' are greyed out.
So, how do i play different campains? going to get pretty boring playing this same campain all of the time. Anyone help me on this one. Basic stuff but not for me..........i'm completly computer dumb andthis is only the second game i have played.

You have to finish the first mission (Mexico's border) in Campaign mode to gain access to the second one. There's 19 missions in total. You pretty much got to continue your campaign until the end.

Without people like you, people like me would just give up therefore not only looseing the $50 we paid for the game we wouls also not get the enjoyment that the game is supposed too be giving.
I am now about to (attempt) to program my new joystick that i purchased yesterday. i'ts the first joystick that i have ever seen so its going to be a challange. I purchased a saitek cyborg evo force. it has a profile for this game but it dosnt work very well. i will attempt to program it so that i dont have to use the clumsy keyboard....Thanks
So what you are saying is i have to finish the campain 'ghost rider' befor the greyed out one become available to me, correct?
Any way i can watch others playing online?
I do better watching and learning.

Yes for the campaign and sadly there's no spectator mode to watch others.
