Great that a New Heroes game is in the works.

Hotseat is a great gametype but I also hope that
a play-by-email feature will be included in the
game. Age of wonders have this feature and it is a great thing to have when you play with friends far away and donâ´t have time to do more
than one or two moves per day.

so...please, Ubisoft/Nival, include play-by-email.

best regards
/Croonan

Even i din't try to play a game by e-mail before, i imagine that it would be a good idea for a Heroes type game. Considering the time length of an online match in former Heroes titles (man it was very frustrating and tiresome), and the possibility for a turn based game to apply play be e-mail, i think it would be a great and spicy addition to the title. Nice request "croonan". Thanks.

How long would one game played by email take? Considering an average of 2 moves per day this would easily take a year or more... u really want to play that long?

Sounds good, but I'd rather this option could be included for HoMM 1 in order to make "Melancholy Tournaments" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I used to think this also, but after being an active player in Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic, you would be surprised how fast the games progress! If you want the games to seem really fast, sign up for multiple PBEM games, you'll find yourself checking your e-mail every hour.

Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic even now still has a very active PBEM community including turn logs (via the website) and a Wizard's Ladder. These games are incredibly fun and addictive. If you play with people in your timezone and your enthusiasm, it will be nothing to post 7+ turns a day (depending on the number of people in the game). This is definitely one of those game types where I would say "don't knock 'til you've tried it"!!
