I was sailing in my second war patrol tonight out of Pearl in the USS Tambor (what a coincidence) when I made contact with a Large European Liner just east of the Ryukyu Islands on my way to patrol the East China Sea. I went to periscope depth and just as I was preparing to fire that big boy turned and started coming right at me. At 1100 yards I gave hime two fish "Down the Throat", and then crashed -dived to avoid being rammed. Managed to get this screenie as a result. Hence the title of the post.

Mr. T,,,,,
I tried something similar last night but didn't punch in the bow....do you have to hit them right on the chin( keel/bow joint)?

All I can tell you lane is that I had the degree of spread to zero so both torpedoes hit at the same point. Things happened pretty fast an there might have been a 0-5 degree AOB (just guess there though).
