"When Sam Fisher opens a door, you already know what is inside. When he lurks amongst the shadows, you are there with him. Everytime he offsets a potential threat or violates international law, you gave the order. He only has the fifth freedom because you enabled it. You are Irving Lambert. You are Third Echelon's Director of Operations."

So what do you guys think of a Lambert spinoff from SC3?

I've posted this on another thread(http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=3651075192&m=8801002592) but decided to make it stand alone thread

Here's how it would work:

Instead of being an action game, it would be more RTS oriented (Read: Evil Genius, Copmmand & Conquer, Risk, Age of Empires, Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich, etc).

As Lambert, you would have control over Third Echelon and its operations. You would decide where and when to deploy spies, which threats are the most important, their equipment, etc. After each turn you get to see how your decisions influenced your score as well as world safety. As you reach higher levels, new and better spies are eventually available (Sam could be in there too)
You would be able to bargain with governments from around the world (always in the name of a different agency, though, because Third Echelon doesn't "exist"). The game would take place sometime before and after the events in SC3 in order to correlate with the storyline. You don't always have to work with Sam, however, because he is only one splintercell out of many.

Don't like pure RTS and prefer a little "hands-on" action? That's fine because there would be teaser levels where Lambert would have to be a spy (ala Sam Fisher in SC) because everyone else is deployed far away. Yes, he would move slower than Sam, probably wouldn't jump as high (I mean, he's a 44 year old single man who probably hasn't had much action in his life).

I am barely scratching the surface here, so imput any ideas you guys have about this.

That game would sell less copies than Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero.

The game idea you pose needs some work, I support your creativity, but I don't think UBISOFT is going to call you anytime soon.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gifLol, I wasn't posing this to UBI. Yea, it's a half-***** idea that needs to be heavily elaborated (that's why I put the "needs more work" option), but it just came to me today when I was replaying SC1 (getting ready for CT http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif) and reading the "You are Sam Fisher. You are a Splinter Cell" note.

What if you could be Lambert, the man behind Sam Fisher? I can just imagine Lambert trying to put on Fisher's spy suit http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I would just like an unlockable lambert skin for getting a hundred percent on SC3. It would need.
1. A ubisoft coffe mug with a broken end. That would be the knife.
2. His pistol would be a small water shooting magnum.
3. His SC20k should be a......uh...hmmmm.....A nerf gun! And it stick to gaurds and if they don't see it coming they would walk around oblivious to the fact of the nerf dart, and when he meets with a friend.......boom! *exloping kids toys* http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
4. His sweater vest should be a camo suit *ya need a reward*
5. His colonel would be his mom. AH MAN! HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE!?!
Mom: "Irving honey? Do ya need anything boy?"
Lambert: "I'm fine mother"
Mom: "Kay! Love ya suga bunny!"
Sam and Anna: "*snicker*...suger bunny"
Lambert: "SHUT UP!"
Mom" IRVINIG! You don't go yelling to a pretty lady!"
6. He should have some type of fighting system. Nothing like a fat guy kickin A.
7. He should dance when you don't touch anything for a while. *sam should do that to!*

lol, alright for starters:

Anything named "Lambertcell" will not sell, period. So name it something else.

Most of the RTS games leave you the player as a nameless general who still receives orders from a higher power (sometimes the player isn't even referenced at all), therefore to be Lambert would leave the game too open IMO. There for what about something along the lines of a shadownet operator, you can still have Lambert in there to give you your mission briefs though.

For gameplay I envision something along the lines of Commandos, no resource management, limited starting number of units like you recommended.

Another thing about RTS that don't mesh well with Stealthy gameplay is if you don't control enough units, it plays out more like an action game than a stratagy game, but if you have too many it becomes less about stealth and more about overwhelming your enemy. So from a team of 8 people you can select about 2-4 before the mission starts (with a recommend loadout). Some RPG elements would fit in nicely too, each spy has their own skill levels on various things (swimming, shooting, hacking, visibilty, quietness, driving, "persuasion", etc.), besides skill levels they could also have a "perk" system where once a spy has achieved a certain rank/level they can use specific gadgets or weapons (think of the Fallout perk system, I don't really play many other RPGs so maybe someone else can think of another example). You would have to purchase weapons, ammunitions and gadgets for your spys and your budget would be based on your mission performance.

At first I thought this was a terrible idea (I even selected "Is this a joke" option in the poll), but the more I think about it, the more I think this type of game could be good. Lets keep bouncing ideas off each other and please, leave lambert at home, the last thing anyone wants to see is him in a wetsuit :-p

What about l......lingerie?!? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif
My eyes just exploded out of their sockets.

On-topic. Yeah, no resource management, or time limit. I don't think we should put in a *only high level people can use **** or *****

Why not make is a sim game, rather than a RTS?

That sounds like a cross of XCOM and Splinter Cell...

Maybe it would work if it were some kind of prequel where Lambert was younger and Sam a rookie. Then have co op play as Lambert & Sam.

That's why I mentioned the "teaser" missions idea. How does everyone feel about a Splintercell/Lambert RTS spinoff?
