I can not get into the game. I have shut down my browser, signed out of facebook, and nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

Try doing this:
Again open your Web Browser, and Launch PL, and after that go to TASK MANAGER by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del, and look for the process FlashUtil10_l.
If you happen to find it, terminate and End this process, and then try to relaunch the Application. A reboot of your PC may be sometimes required, but not always....
By any chance do you have 'TweetDeck' open ? Try to close and shut it down, as well as any other App/program like 'Skype' etc.
