What would be really nice is if I could take my 12th Ranked TOW Battalion into Skirmish mode and practice maps against other types of 12th ranked groups.

A skirmish mode with persistent battalions and a matchmaking system with lobbies would be a welcome casual playstyle from all of ToWs problems.

You are right. Actually it would even be better if you could pick the rank that your faction plays with and the rank of your opponent. That way you can really test out strategies. For those times you want to switch battalions in TOW and start over.
Its almost like Murphy's law that a game I love gets no respect from the people that made it.
