Radar still doesnt work???

Why is it that my air radar isnt working. I have started a new mission and selected the SD air radar for my boat using some renown.

When I go on a campaign my crew show airplanes on the nav map and tell me they are detected by air radar but I cant switch either radar on. I can change the other buttons ok but the radar screens cannot be switched on and I cant see anything on them. Why is this? Is this still a bug in the game. Or is the SD radar always on and cannot be switched off. I havent noticed if a blip appears on the screen when a plane is close by?

I thought all this had been fixed. And what is the difference between the two radars they are named wierd names on the icons but I assume one is surface and one air radar? So why dont they just get called that on their icons?

Whats going on here? Am I just stupid? I figured out the radar etc in Falcon 4 so I dont think I am particularly thick!! Is it that this game is just impossible to figure out??

The radar display your looking at is your SJ surface radar. Once you add that you will be able to use the radar screen. It is not a bug, but the way the game is setup http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

If you started your career in December 1941, that is the answer. Radar becomes available as the war progresses. The first radar you get is SD, air search.

When it becomes available in mid to late '42, depening on which boat you have, you can add SJ surface radar. Until then you just have to tough it out, just like in RL.

Well that explains a lot as I assumed one was for surface and one for air. But then why are there two radar screens if they are both for surface radar?
