View Full Version : Uh... Here's a bug... (with pix!)

Ok so Sam's trudging along on the cruise ship level, after sneaking past guards and waiting patiently for them to walk away, BAM! A guard opens the door and another one springs into existence right out of thin air causing the guard to pace idiotically trying to bang his way through the magically appeared pane.

Reload... Door still warps in from alternate universe. *sigh*

Reload again... BAM! Iron head guard still trying fruitlessly to pass through magical shield.

Reload 3, 4, 5 yielded same results. Oh great. Now no possibility of finishing level w/o alarms.

wow.. thats exactly what my sam was thinking there!

hehe yeah you can.. I whistled a lot of times until he was nuts and "running agains the door"... and then I opened it for him and ran back... he opens it again.. and since he is running he has time to pass.... and then you sneak... and it's done :P

Think I should post this in the community help section as a bug report? Or has this happend to everyone else?

I can clarify this same bug, I was on the left hand side as the door opened and the enemy was then blocked by a secondary door and simply kept walking on the spot infront of it.

How they missed that one I shall never know.

Actually, I liked this bug. I had fun messing with the guard. Instead of sneaking on the right side, go to the left. When the door opens, close it. When the guard kicks it in, he will still be stuck. Eventually he runs off but it was fun messing with him.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You can also open the door early while they are talking. If you duck into the shadows as soon as you do, they will come to investigate and won't get stuck. I demonstrated this in my Full Stealth video.

what you can do is sticky shocker him, then open each of the doors until one of them opens, then i got stuck and sam wouldnt move, and thats when i had the 'pick up body' icon so i pressed space and it moved sam to pick the body up and it worked.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yeah I eventually just air foiled him. Woohoo full unlockables!

On that note, after installing 1.02 patch I can't say for certain if the unlocked items are there or not. I think the grenades are there but what about the new uber key that supposedly unlocks doors on its own?

uhhh.. I'm not sure.. I just tried what I wanted after the patch.. the enhanced night vision... and I wasn't impresed.. especially when you use your enhanced vision+scope... just try it... you'll so on your own

and I think it's not a loading bug or anything.. it's a mapping bug... so it must happen to everyone.. it's that they made a door that has 2 covers together... but for some reason... the 2 covers in the left side are moved 90?... so it's not from another universe... close the door from the other side... you'll see that it's there...

pretty weird.. but it's the bug that I enjoyed the most :P... that and the one of the breakdancing ragdoll :P

I ran into the exact same bug and there was no way I could get passed that part. Finally figured out that the center part of the secondary door thats not supposed to be there doesn't have the center glass section. Shoot a sticky shocker or airfoil through it to take him out.

I also made screenies (and someone else did before you posted them) about this same bug. After being done messing around for him, I whistled and the guard went through the other door which is working properly.

Oh, and m4d paint skillz!
