I recently decided to start getting all my stuff legally...Here's a list of all the stuff that I have...it's all free, except for the first and last one.

1.) All of mp3 (http://www.allofmp3.com) You can download basically any song here for only a penny a meg! It's in Russia but they have it in English. They have pretty fast servers too. Join and you won't regret!

2.) 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) Basically winzip but it's free and has better compression. Many more features than winzip. Supports all file formats from winzip too.

3.) GAIM (http://gaim.sourceforge.net/about.php) God I love this chat client. I used to use Trillian but switched to this and it's free and supports AIM (Oscar and TOC protocols), ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, and Zephyr networks. FREE!

4.) OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) This is a free Microsoft Office like program which I think is much better and it's free. By Jove! It seems like my birthday!

5.) Quintessential Player (http://quinnware.com/) A music playing program that's free and is much better than Winamp. A ton of amazing skins as well. Be sure to get this one!

6.) TuneUp Utilities 2004 (http://windows.fileoftheday.com/archives/system_utilities_tuneup_utilities_2004.html) Not a freebie but I know you'll love it. I payed for it within a day after the trial. It's basically like style xp and a TON of other things all in one. This is like the toping on a cake to complete it all!

from what i remember hearing that is a very grey zone too.

yea...it's legal in russia so if we go by their laws whcih we are allowed to do then it's perfectly legal. And doesn't iTunes come in that mac format and you need to convert it. Besides...they don't have half the songs that i want...

openoffice rocks. IMHO it outshines office in everyway. You can save as pdf and other neat things highly recommended.
