Getting trapped in the book is one of the endings -- there is another. It's up to you to decide who to trust.

Note that there is another thing that both brothers urge you not to do. If both brothers are bad, then maybe doing what they tell you not to is not such a bad idea...

I already tried both of the books, I saved before I put the page in the book, and they don't work

yes, I have been to the fireplace but all there is is the two pages and the green book, I listened to the guy in the green book, and heard something about the myst page, do I have to find the page or what do I have to do?

You have to trust someone - Sirrus, Achernar (the two brothers) or Atrus (the guy you reach through the green book). If trusting Sirrus and Achernar didn't work for you perhaps you need to consider doing what Atrus suggests.

The pages to the brothers' books weren't the only ones to be found in the ages. Do you recall finding any other pieces of paper? The information you need to be able to do as Atrus (the guy in the green book) asks is around somewhere.

In your travels through all the Ages, did you come across any papers other than the blue and red pages? There are 2 halves of a note you need to find -- together, they give you some information that will help you. Also, where did you get the last pages for the blue and red books? Did you see anything else there that might be of interest?

I can't beleive this! I didn't know that if you don't bring the page with you to the green book world, with atrus, you can't get back!!! So when I got to that world I immediately saved!! Well, Atrus did try to tell you not to use that linking book until you found the missing page...did you only have one saved game that you kept writing over? If so then you will need to start again. What you will have to repeat depends on the course of action you were intending to take through the game and I hesitate to offer anything that would influence that course. I can say that having been through the game many times, it is only the first that presents any obstacles. Your knowledge of the game so far will let you rebuild what you lost fairly quickly. Try saving with different filenames along the way this time.

Hi there! I figured out that I did need to start over, but since I know not to get the red and/or blue pages, I figured that the button in the fireplace was there in the beginning of the game, and I was right!
