Here's an idea for you UBI marketing geniuses.
try offering actual hard copies of the game for sale in major markets like the US, Canada and Australia.
You might actually shift a few units of this product if you do.
If you sell the product and treat your customers well, you might make money!
A revolutionary idea, no?
No need to thank me.

You had better be careful. You keep this kind of crazy thinking alive and you will be banned.
What next? They actually tell us why it costs almost twice as much for a copy of the game in Australia as it does in Amuerica, even though it is a digital down load?

Or that it seems like they're using a supposedly more available digital download as a way to restrict the number of people who can buy the game around the world, or that the more we hear about the supposedly harmless DRM the more complicated and draconian it sounds. And generally I don't care about DRM when it's something like Steam.

The issue is not really the DRM and digital download.
Its the fact that many new products are being offered as digital download only with onerous DRMs at the same price or higher than previous boxed games with manuals and unlimited playability.
If the digital download version with nasty DRM was half the price and users had a choice no-one would complain.

That being so, quite a few will still buy at the inflated price, whilst a lot less will wait until the hardcopy becomes available, if it become available.
There's a marketing methodology in place here called; "By the short and curlies, between the rock and the hard place"

it's just not the same to me, having a download instead of an actual dvd. Is this the way it'll go for other software in the future?
