Around every 2nd or 3rd game, I get kicked by punk buster, and so does my friend.

We are both using Vista, I am 64, he is 32.

Its rteally annoying to wait for a long time for playing anything else than the crappy Last Bastian map. When some nice map finally arrives, you get some message regarding kicked by punkbuster, which is really annoying...

You may want to move this concern to the "PC discussion" as you are right now posting in the "console discussion". It's likely you might get an answer there.

Have you even tried fixing it yourself?

I've had punkbuster problems in several games. I fixed them all by researching the error messages it gave.

How can you expect anyone to help you if they don't even know what the problem is? Since you have given zero information about it.

It was originally posted in the Console forum, and it's been moved to this forum.

Ok, bud, first we need exactly what it tells you when you get kicked.

Ill recommend this to start since we need more info. If you can open your console, (many V64 player cannot) do so and type pb_sv_ver. This will show you what version of PB is running at the moment. Make a note of this and then check evenbalance.com to make sure you are fully updated. PBsetup does not normally put the files in the right place; you have to do so yourself.

Ill kep an eye on this thread and try to help you through it. Get us some more info, and we will do our very best to get you playing!

Most PB kicks are due to either the servers not being updated properly, the pb client not being properly updated, connection problems due to a slow internet connection (on either end) or a combination of all three.

Many people serve with way too low capacity internet connections, which causes problems to the players. Also, many server admins don't have a clue on how to properly setup punkbuster. So the problem may be in the other end, not the player end.

IF you do get a PB kick which contains the word "Admin decision", the admin has kicked you explicitly. That happens for a number of reasons, I can only answer to what it'd take on my server and some of the other wgc servers: Breaking house rules, spamming a lot in the lobby, abusive language and racism would all earn a player a kick or a permanent ban. I always serve them the reason why they were kicked or banned when that happens.

For Tango_2_0 or Agent00Kevin
Punk Buster is killing my buzz.
I am now getting the messasge (please bear with me)

PunkBuster kicked player 'WinterBorn 767' (for 0 minetes).... RESTRICTION: Server Communication Failure: PnkBstr.exe driver failure (PnkBstrK.sys) ffab

Any idea how to un-f this? It was playing fine all day yesterday (19 Sep 2009) but today I get this. This is the first time on the forum but if you can email me at scubadude676@earthlink.net that would be cool.

Thanks for the help.

You need to update your PB I guess, that's what I needed to do to get it to work on V64.

Yep thats a V64 problem. Sounds like you need to put the file in one of its places...they seem to vary. Try putting one in your bin folder for starters.
