SPOnG: Any plans for a multi-player beta?
DL: We've been discussing multi-player beta, it may just end up being multi-player demo, but we are looking to do a pre-release, a playable version of the multi-player.
RY: Everyone loves to play an unfinished game. [Grins]
DL: Because the multi-player side of it is so strong, we want to give people a chance to try it. I really like the support for downloadable demoes on the PS3 and the 360 now. It's great as a gamer to have that stuff available.
Yeah, great stuff!
The full article is 6 pages, although I haven't had time to read it all yet:

Edit: I didn't notice the link was already posted, but it's probably worth flagging up with it's own thread anyway. The out-takes from the interview are hilarious BTW, lol.

It's not a final confirmation that a demo is coming, but it seems very likely to happen from the quotes above, and it would seem a great way to publicise the game and it's USP(s) to gamers. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Nice info thanks. I noticed that Neko said in the article that they probably won't support the rumble, because it arrieved too late, but how could it be so difficult to just add the rumble to the moments while shooting or getting a melee blast or getting killed by explosion or whatever?
And btw how early can the demo come out before the release?

So when is the rumble coming out? If that's around the release of Haze, it, ofcourse, would be too late.

Good article, just finished reading it. I have a question however, there's been a plethora of discussion at this point, regarding the fact that Haze is 'two games in one', the Mantel side and the PH side. I'm wondering if it's possible through different choices in the game, to stay Mantel throughout the entire game, or is it linear, insofar that eventually you MUST join the Promised Hand? IE. can the player refuse to learn, or, more to the point, not be affected by the morales of war situations that you present in the game?

i am lead to be leave its pretty linear and you follow the set story route

Awww that's too bad, would be great if you could simply ignore the morale lessons, and continue killing/murdering etc... hehe

Judging from how they are discussing the demo, I wouldn't expect to see it until October - these things don't just appear overnight.
As for rumble, well I'll be disappointed if this turns out to be true, but it hasn't even been officially announced yet, so how much could they really say about it?
Maybe closer to the time we might have some other news, but seeing as rumble definetly is going to be appearing at some point soon on PS3 and already exists on 360, I expect to see them supporting rumble/ffb in a future patch.
Incidentally, Immersion announced it (via it's licensees) "in September 2007, will begin distributing peripherals for Sony PlayStation products in North America." That's the latest we have on PS3 Touchsense.

Just a quick question if you don't mind me being a bit nosy. I noticed a blurb in an exclusivity article where someone mentioned point blank that Haze was built in a linux environment. No surprise there considering the PS3 runs on the PPC architecture, but what distribution would you say comes closest to the build that Free Radical Design currently works with? I'm guessing that it's a custom build but does it lean towards Red Hat perhaps?

That be sweet and good idea it seems like the game might need more balance b/c seem the rebels always rape the mantel with one shot it seems.

A demo would make everyone on the PSN want to get this game. Sooner better than later, I always say.

I can't wait for the Haze demo...I've already conquered Heavenly Sword, I need a new demo to smash when I'm taking breaks from Warhawk and Tekken 5http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifR online!

hmm, Don't know about you guys but I'd rather have the guys spend the most time on the game making it as perfect as possible, than to stop to work on a new demo build.
I think if we get a demo, it should just be the one that's already been shown to the public. I'd rather have a super solid game than a nifty new demo which won't last long.
I dunno, just my thoughts, but if they have the resources to pull off a new demo then bring it on, hell yeah! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
