The following is the outcome of a little spat I had with a rather stealthy little aircraft, bless it's annoying little pilot. Interestingly, it only amounts to 4% hull damage - I think the crew might be understating the problem for my personal benefit. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Anyway, I had some questions. I'm on a brand new career on a U-Boat, using a FuMB-1 Metox RADAR warning receiver. It doesn't seem to detect anything at all. I mean I get a RADAR report, but by the time I do the aicraft is on me and I have about 5-10 seconds to do something before I'm under fire.

Anyway, this isn't a moan, I just wondered if that was normal?

Also, I'm running RSRD with TMO, and I don't seem to be coming across any surface contacts at all. I seem to remember someone saying that coming across targets is much more rare under RSRD, is this the case?

Thanks in advance!

TK

Ouch is right....lol

well its normal for this to happen, the radar warning is last min ( or seconds), crash dive when you receive the warning from the crew, and that radar warning device, was detectable by Allied anti sub forces, you will get offered a better unit in the future. My advice , use it and, always read up on what you install on youre boat.

Be careful at night too.....

As too youre other question's about TMO and RSRD, I dont know , I have not tried them yet.

But I have read here that the "targets " are alittle less frequent.

Alrighty. Also I appear to be gathering large amounts of CO2 even on the surface......feels like a bug to me. Any way around that?

EDIT. Not to worry, found the answer. Which dofus decided to make us click on the CO2 icon to replenish oxygen?! There is such a thing as overcomplication, Ubi, dear fellows! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Welcome to the Kriegsmarine where all our equipment is superior and our U-Boats are invincible! I'm afraid German radar detectors were designed and used as much by superstition as design. The results were predictable. Blub, blub, blub.

The biggest breakthrough/advantage came with the advent of Microwave Radar. Something the Axis never earnestly pursued and even the Allies, at first, believed impossible.
