Direct from Ubisoft's latest press release, I have summed up the changes many PC fans will notice in this year’s release of the three Clancy-inspired games:
Rainbow Six: Lockdown
1. Added: ability to customize weapons with color and other personal touches.
2. Added new tactical weaponry: In later levels, Rainbow will have access to improved weaponry like the H&K PSG-7 Ion cannon and the Colt AR-115 fully automatic .50 cal. sniper rifle.
3. Added character emotes: After a successful kill you will hear operatives yell things like "oh yeah!" and "Bull’s-eye!" and "Rock on!"
4. Added new, modern character: Operative Lance Bay, the hip, gay member of the Rainbow team.
5. Added: Your team will now have a pool of four lives that can be used for the entire group to resurrect key members that have gone down in the line of fire mid-mission.
Ghost Recon
1. Added new combat abilities: Ghosts will now be able to utilize martial arts in close combat.
2. Removed tactical command: Team member will now follow leader and mimic his every action to immerse the player in a fast-paced environment without the hassle of managing soldiers on the field.
3. Added vehicles: Ghost can now requisition tanks, APCs, Jet Skis, helicopters and fighter jets to get the job done.
4. Added tracers: All bullets will now be followed by a straight yellow line which when paired with the target ID HUD will completely eliminate the guesswork of where every enemy is on the field at all times.
5. Added: You will now be able to find special power-ups hidden throughout the many levels to give your team abilities like invisibility and double damage!
Splinter Cell:
1. Added: Player can now choose to play the new 4 hour campaign as either Sam Fisher or Ashley Carter, the hottest, youngest and newest member of Third Echelon team.
2. Added new weapon: Double Colt .45s.
3. New soundtrack by Ryan Cabrera and 50 Cent.
4. Added combat abilities: Sam and Ashley can utilize the new, rechargeable "Xtreme Focus" ability to slow down time enabling them to take on rooms full of enemies without suffering a scratch.
Added new equipment: Personal force-field. This highly experimental piece of equipment will help Sam or Ashley out of a jam on a very limited basis.
Who says the consoles have done nothing for tactical simulations!?!

When I grow up I want to be just like you. Thinking I am so ultra cool because I play computer games on a personal desktop computer instead of a console. Wow. I can hardly wait to see what it feels like. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Since you are trying to be funny, I contribute some as well:

SPLINTER CELL
Sam Fisher will be equipped with the highly experimental chrono-dagger, so that he can reverse time in case he messes up.
In addition to a portable shotgun, Sam Fisher will also be equipped with a rocket launcher and the Brute shot. Why go stealth when you can have loud firepower.
Sam Fisher no longer has one boring whistle tone. He can now whistle "Mary has a little lamb" and "Twinkle twinkle little star" to attract attention.
When interrogated, the enemies will give a 2 hour lecture about the evil nature of America, they will also recommend the right brand of deodorant, the best brand of dishwashing soap and the best company to hook up high speed internet is of course AOL.
One of the final missions in the campaign will be to save the peace-loving Al-Qaeda and Talibans from those evil warmongering Europeans.
In addition to thermal vision and electromagnetic vision, Sam Fisher will also be equipped with Astrology vision, so he can predict the fortune of his enemies. He will also be equipped with nearsighted vision and farsighted vision
GHOST RECON
The team now has the experimental ability to become real ghosts and walk through walls.

How about when you grow up you learn to debate the issues, in stead of just flinging out personal attacks? Unfortunately, the man has a point to his sarcasm; Consoles haven't exactly made computer games deeper or more advanced.
Maybe one day daddy will buy you a computer and you can try a game that requires more than a button shaped as a triangle to play.

Stop blaming consoles for everything you don't like about PC gaming. Counter Strike is more popular than Rainbow Six amongst PC gamers for God sake.
If PC gamers weren't buying so called dumbed down arcade games, then companies wouldn't make them thinking people would eat them up.
Do you think that companies just woke up some day, and decided to start making dumbed down arcade games for the PC audience knowing they wouldn't like it?

To be fair to console gamers they all hated Ghost Recon 2 becuase it wasn't patch on GR1 and complained about the lack of realism contained therein. Don't forget GR1 was a direct port of the PC Version and console gamers perfered that one. They also all seem to hate lockdown complaining that it isn't a patch on R6 3 for the consoles. I played the console R6 and while nowhere near as good as the PC version was still a relatively realistic and tactical game.

this isn't the consoles fault (although it could easily be blamed on that) ... the majority of the population dont want uber hardcore tactical simulations they want a simple game they can complete and make themselves feel big ... sadly money hungry companies like ubi make the game these people want as they have the most cash ... even if they have to totally ruin an awesome brandname in the process
oh and most of these people just happen to also own playstations and ipods ... damn sheep
I have a Playstation, nothing to do with me being a sheep, although I don't think you were implying all Playstation owners were.

I hear Operative Lance Bay has a cool rainbow sticker on the back of his helmet. Also... I hear when John Clark introduces him to the team he will make a spectacular "Top Secret" entrance with the Queen tune We Are the Champions playing in the background.
There has also been talk of an R6 movie, word is Christopher Lowell may play him. I've also heard the guy who plays Jack on Will and Grace was interested but the producers didn't think he was "Gay" enough, they are looking for someone who is truly living the lifestyle.

all right, more jokes:
http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
Actually his name is not Lance Bay. It's Lance Bass.
Also Dieter Weber's name has been changed to Justin Timberlake, which is why the terrorists wanted to take him out.
In order to attract more teenage gamers, the expansion to LOCKDOWN will be called Rainbow Six: 1337
it will include several new operatives:
ASHLEE SIMPSON
LINDSEY LOHAN
PARIS HILTON
KANYE WEST
EMINEM
HILARY DUFF

Ya know, I wanted Jessica Simpson myself but Hillary Duff works OK. (I'm fond of the blonds)
Again in the movie version, soon to be announced don't tell anyone, Hillary is forced to strip naked to distract the tangos that are about to kill Ding. Fortunately Bass is not far behind Hillary and is able to wipe out the tangos with ease as they didn't even notice him.

And from now on, all missions will be decided by Break Dance competitions. No longer will firearms or violence be a part of this fine series. When terrorists strike, Rainbow will move out to the situation, gain entrance, and confront the terrorists, whenceforth there will be a 1 vs 1 dance off. If this results in a draw, there will a MASS dance your *** off for control of the planet!!! That is all.

The problem stems from the fact that developers can save a lot of money by making/designing a game once, then port it to other consoles/the PC. And when they started doing this, we consumers were so in love with various franchises that we kept buying the games, despite them being dumbed down. Take Call of Duty.. The first one was awesome, and a lot of people liked it because it felt less console like than a lot of the other WWII shooters out there. CoD 2 comes out, and what happened? It feels like you're playing a frickin' console game on the PC.
The console has it's place (Nothing like sitting around getting drunk with friends playing on the PS), and the PC has it's place too. In stead of defending the merging of these two genres of games, we should stand up to the devs and let them know we like console games on the console, and PC games on the PC, and that we're smart enough to tell the difference.

Tonytwotoes for teh win! I guess I'll change my name to Franky Four Fingers.
Consoles are one of the reasons why tactical franchises are being dumbed down, like it or not. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm also a console player... There are games that just work better on consoles, and I don't have to worry about whether game A will work or not.
