Can you make your squads smaller like, keep 75 troops in Paris lets say and move to a different location using like 10-15 of those men?

why would you want to? this isn't like risk where you need to keep an army in each territory to occupy it

so you can weaken the enemy without a huge number of casulties like taken an upgraded elite sniper team and picking off enemies so you dont have to have a huge brawl if you like reconnaissance stuff

thats pointless, your troops would be slaughtered by the enemies armor and air power (and their hugely superior numbers).
this game isn't about little skirmishes like that, it is about huge battles, and if you want to go up against an enemy brigade that has armor, choppers, and artillery with only a sniper team you won't weaken them too much, you would loose more men then you would take out. maybe you would be lucky and run across a group of infantry first, then they would call in armor or just pound the area with artillery killing all your men

hence the sniper, take high ground points above where your target is, you could take out ground troops if you had a few snipers, you wouldnt make a huge impact on armored vehicles, but you could eliminate RPGs and such, be fun to sneak around and pop a few heads every now and again

so your plan is to sacrifice a highly trained sniper team that you invested a lot of time and resources into so that you could take out a few easily replaceable grunts on the other team, you may get lucky and take out a few less easily replaceable grunts.
i think there is a game mode similar to what you want, although i don't think it is part of the main online campaign (i don't even know if it is multiplayer at all or if it is just singleplayer)
i can see the fun in it, but it would be a stupid waste of men if you wanted to go into battles like that. it wouldn't weaken the enemy much, they would just replace the men, and be up to full strength for the next match

probalby will, daxius makes sense but i think he's using the wrong arguments

let imagin a scenarioa, and ur in the middle of a big fight, and u want to ambush the oposing team by the back, but the road you will use is protected by a small battalion (the big fight is occuring on the other side, remember that) so you should be able to get a few men (the amount you need) assemble a fire team and clean that road..

i know its a bit confusing but i'm pretty sure you be able to command small ammounts of soldiers (5, 10 or 15)

And what if you wanna play suicide commando? It's your tactic you're in your right to experiment... Hell if I can sacrifice a boot to get 5 enemies, why shouldn't I??? what the hell it's just a game...

lol daxius it wouldn't work because u select a bettle and then get paired up with an enemy u then battle it out he will win u lose they are now closer to holding on to that terriotory come the end of the day and the likelihood ever playing that one person again if they're random would be quite low.

hehehe the 1st few missions i'm just going to throw all my men at the enemy since they aren't going to be upgraded really lol until i start winning then start using tactics when they get better http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

well ur still going to lose i don't think u'll have an ai side thats just going to keep sending the same combination of troops at u like in C&C games and where they don't learn how to counter something like a single sniper.

i would say to not expect dumb AI...if this game is to be as good as they are painting him..it will probably have advanced and adaptative AI (that's going to eat so many cpu cycles!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif )

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif EHEHEHE KJWhite is right let's just waste them, on-line game or not. As I said in a another forum, I'm going to number my privates so that I just don't care if 1 or a 100 boots get blown away, "it's a game"...

I dunno daxius's Idea isn't stupid, yes one small sniper team can't kill off loadsa people at one time but the can allow others to eg artillery. Picture your forces heading along a road "oh no we just got shot at by snipers ah wgo kell ill em grunts" "Oh **** half my tanks just blew up" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif . And then of course u retreat ur snipers, (and if ur lucky the enemy retreat out of your site aswell) so no losses on your side lots on the enemy's simple http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

It makes sense to me, kind of like the Rangers LRRP units, scouting ahead of the main body.

you guys do know that they are have special-ops missions where you have a few units vs one or two larger opponents. where you have to kill a VIP or take out some random buildings. there you go both people are happy. in big battles no will be stupid and send only snipers and you can have a small units too!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
