Not sure if anyone has picked up on this (and excuse if this has already been posted, forums move to quickly) but I think the reason due to some people having problems with no rain is the time compression.
This is a picture of me getting rain which I never have a problem with...

No here is a picture after I time compressed at 1024...

Notice that I did a weather check and the Navigator still stated heavy rain. And the time is a half our later, however, the rain started to be visible again after about a minute or so.
I think when you time compress, the rain somehow lags behind you as if it were in the previous spot before you time compressed. It just takes a little time to catch up so to say. Hope this can be fixed in future patches.

No the bugs not time compression related, as i can set up single missions with rain and not use time compression and its not there.
Its supposed to dissapear past 32x compression. The problem is on most everyones computer (i think) its not appearing due to some problem. I check the weather lots and should have seen truck fulls of rain. Like weeks worth, but saw about 2 hours worth in a year. I know the programmers have put it in as i get the reports, and i have seen it. Its just not drawing sometimes for some reason. And the lack of acknowledgement from anywhere is starting to bug me a little i must say...

RommelsMind,
It might be useful if U state your system specs. I'm thinking why some of the folks on here dun see the rain could be the program detecting a shortfall in required specs and hence not simulate the rain...

No rain could depend on you PCs processor and the amount of RAM you have.... but not sure. It's just a thought only, as I've had no problems with finding rain and rough seas.
It might also depend on the ingame date whether or not you have it. Enjoy the clear weather while you can, even tho bad is better so you can't be seen that easily. The North Atlantic can be treacherous. So run submerged during the day if you can, and come up at night for refreshing your batteries and air supply. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I have rain in spades. Only problem is that my navigator keeps telling me that its heavy fog.
I tracked an armed trawler in this soup for hours. Finally made the first visual contact at 300 yds. Unfortunately his guns were still able to fire and he nailed me with his second shot. My gun could not fire in the storm of course.
There was really no good way to track him in the storm and it wasn't worth the time once I realised it was only a trawler.
Its been raining for two days on this patrol after not having seen rain once in previous 3 patrols.

I was only ever able to see rain once when a mate and I played over his 2 computers. I set it up and it all worked out fine. However I've never seen it in the campaign game yet. Although I don't ask very often, my navigator has never reported it either.

I've had rain whenever it's reported, so long as I wait about 5-10 minutes after coming out of time compression.
Dominicrigg, have you tried setting up a single mission with rain and waiting 5-10 minutes without time compression?

I've sailed normal time for ages and I got weather reports and they all said the same, Wind:15metres a second Fog: Heavy precipitation: Heavy and though in stormy sea's and high spray over the Con/Tower I never seen any fog or rain!
Could be my Video Card! but then again I see the grey/blue smoke from ships guns and the fireball and great explosions and the sea and graphic I think look amazing for the card I have!
ps.. Has anyone seen a Wind Speed over 15Metres a second?

15 meters a second is the strongest I've seen.
Fog ingame doesn't look like some dense London 'jack the ripper' style fog, but rather reduced visibility (at least on my card) it doesn't look like the fog on the intro movie.
It's hard to tell the effect of fog until you see something else. I.e.. I was chasing a convoy from the hydrophone.. my god it sounded close but I couldn't see it. Finally I gave up and surfaced.. went all ahead flank in the direction of the sound.
I was standing on the bridge, lighting up a ciggie as this great ******* big merchant loomed out the mist at 300 meters range!
Bugger me, I thought, it is misty isn't it.. now BACK EMERGENCY!! and ****e, I dropped the ciggie and burned the carpet!

I don't think the problem has anything to do with system specs.
I never got any rain, not a drop going from home base to New York.
So I edited the Bismark mission and turned up the settings for rain. Tried the mission and there was rain.
So If it's working as it should you should see rain.
