stuck in clockworks and gears

ive went all the way past the big dude you stab in the head the to the right nock the monster off the wall, then through the water wheel,pulled down the leaver that opens the door, killed the dudes,then i went back in the door i came in went to the highest point in the clock tower, jumped down onto the center and killed the 3 blow up dogs....now im stuck.. If i go in the door that opened with that pull down switch it takes me back to the past present machine that doesnt work and a spinning wheel stops me from coming back. plz help,,,

By "past present machine" you mean portal, right? If so, how exactly doesn't it work? You can't go through or going through does you no good?

I cant go in it cause it doesnt work, or do i need to find the right combo on the 4 buttons on the wall? Do i need to go back to the present to turn/flip the switch to finish clock tower 1.

some of the portal do require you to push them in a certain order.

You need to push the buttons in a certain order. I don't remember what that order is so you'll just have to keep trying different ones until you get it.

EDIT: I guess you posted just as I did because I didn't see your last post until I had finished mine. Anyways, you just need to go through the portal to the present and the tower will be different there. You go through it a ways in the present and then back to the past where you complete it.

Yeah you're going the right way. Once you go through the portal you'll sort of have to backtrack but the tower will be different.

By right order I meant you need the press the buttons on the wall in the right order to activate the portal, not actually go through it in the right order.

**** man i been here for f-in days i cant get that portal to go on, piss me off i thought that i had to go back, but i couldt get that portal to go on.GRRRRR. Thanks alot man ill keep tryin to get it to work.

I went to the present but i cant get bye the spinnin wheel with spikes just outside portal room??

hi, climb the block that comes out of the wall and then wall run until you are over the spinning spikes
