We already know what you e-mailed atacms. "Will the US troops be using the M8 or the SCAR or the...." or perhaps "Will there be craters and self-healing minefields?"

Ha ha, http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif you sort of guessed right. Well we know that there WILL be self healing minefields from the IGN preview. My question was a little more nuanced than that. Of course I couldn't hold myself down to one question. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif

The process of searching through all the questions and finding which ones are being asked the most frequently or ask the most important questions is quite a process. I wouldn't expect answers until they do a general website overhaul and add a FAQ section.

Looks like some questions are being answered in the DEV Q&A section of the main Endwar website. So far it's just two questions and NONE of them regarding wether or not this game is coming out for the PC. So you know what? I'd like to call upon ALL PC gamers to flood the devs with emails regarding a PC version.

Thanks for the update and saying it was on the main site. I never knew that exsited! And it seems like will get some gameplay videos at somepoint this week if not an ?early demo? as on the US site it says there going to be showing off a demo at GC in Germany this week.

Alright here is a question you say you can use voice commands and controller commands...
Can you use both at the same time to make your movements even quicker? say tell one group to move to a certain location while simulataniously moving another group to another stratigic location. (basically to save time and out manuver your enemy)

You need to email your questions not post them here on this thread, although I think posting to this thread may have made more sense.

Hey I'm wondering for this game. How do u create units?? if there's no resources available how can u create them? do u earn them after u conquer a territory??? or do u manufacture them from a special location??? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

KJ_White
08-26-2007, 10:34 PM
well from the interviews we know there are 7 baic unit types armoured infantry air etc. well i'd say there would be about 12 slots to fill. each player would then select from those basic unit types and fill those 12 slots therefore leaving you with 12 units, which is the max number of units for a battle field per side and then from there as they get more experienced you upgrade them but there are going to be no points to by extra units. This is all a prediction the only way to kno is to wait for more info and the game.

Thank God that this game will be based close to reality, there is no base building or resource mining. You get your troops by making a request and they get heloed in.

IGN: You worked on the Rome Total War series, an outstanding RTS franchise. What elements did you bring from that franchise to EndWar?

De Plater: Two elements come to mind:

As Rome, EndWar rewards players for their ability to make the best tactical decisions amidst battle, not for their capacity to build bases and produce massive numbers of units very quickly. There is no resource-gathering or base-building in EndWar. I want the focus to be on intense and realistic tactical action: fields of fire, using terrain for advantage, outmaneuvering and outthinking your opponent, etc.

they say: "it will be the most realistic WO3 game so far"
My question: if it will be so realistic...will there be damage models for tanks and vehicles, and will there be realistic injuries for soldiers http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif ? (example:arm shot off or something like that)

for the squads that make it through one mission i heard that they get xp and you can upgrade them... does that mean that you can upgrade damage protection? i hope not because even if you are experienced that doesnt change the place you get hit... if so that would also be a bad thing cause im sure your going to have favorite regiments that you lose in a battle and you cant get those units back so it make u cry if they are like ur best lol

it won't change where you are hit but you upgrade their body armor, so if you give them better body armor they will be better protected

will there be individual upgrades? i saw one of the screenshots, the infantry squads firing over their heads. is the gun camera an upgrade or are they already equipped like that? will you be able to upgrade individual weapons? like maybe change your riflesquads to use M-468 carbines instead of the M-8s? or maybe added armor for your tanks or reactive armor for russian tanks? individual squad roles?(rifleman,lightMG,grenadier?..etc)

Will weather be integrated into the game and will it affect the troops and like how they move when it gets to wet and muddy in the rain they can't run as fast or they will slip and fall. Others have tried to put weather in there games but have never really got close to making it work right. Another effect is when there is thunder the planes may be grounded or if you still force them to go out you see one or more of them getting struck by lighting. Weather is a big improtent aspect in war it can make you win or lose a war. I am a student at the art instituted of Orange County California getting a Bachlers in Visual and game programing so I know it can be done my name is Randall.

how realistic is the damage going to be? i'm assuming it'll be pretty realistic considering it's a TomClancy title, but just wondering. Will vehicles be able to take different types of damage and be immobilized as a result? Also, will any information be revealed about the Russian units? Right now, all i know is they have the T-80UM2 "black eagle", the KA-50 ho***/black shark, an updated variant of the Mi-24 Hind, and UAVs... will they be using a variant of the BMP-3 as their apc/ifv?

thanks

tylniles, good question. Are you also sending your questions to the email address they gave?
I'm hoping that damage is realistic, but I don't think unfortunately it will have this level of realism. I've been posing questions like this and then got the response that it's a game not a simulation. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

this is an rts, if they start putting dammage points in units and tanks, the game will be too processor demanding..

anyway 2 damage points for units would be fine (1 shot in the head = death)
and also 2 for tanks (a blow in the flank damages the tracks and the tank becomes imobilized untill engeneers repairs it..)

but, i dont know exactly how hard is to code that kind of stuff..

yah, it's not a sim, but it IS an RTS, and it's Clancy. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif i know i've asked before, but will the Javelin be the AT infantry weapon for the US? or maybe the ZeussMPAR that was in GRAW? for the US will there be usmc AND army ground units? that'd be cool.... JSF is "joint strike force" right?

Question: What are the developers doing to prevent Boosters? In the Chromehounds persistent online war, boosting is a big problem. People create a false gamertag to play against their real gamertag and lose on purpose within about 10 seconds. Thus their real gamertag racks up the "wins" very quickly and turns the tide of the war (falsly). As a result, everyone else's efforts in the war are meaningless and the only people with a real impact are boosters. How are you going to prevent this?

There are some easy ways : 1. make it so for 1 game you can make 1 account to play online and to boost you should buy 2 and it costs more http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif. Ofc some will buy 2 or get another by some legal or not so legal way but they could make some raports so they see if some1 is pwning some1 like all the time and then ban them http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

yeah but considering there rivals in the never ending gameing indusrty most likly not.

how about blind firing? lets say an infantry squad is completely cut off and surrounded, taking heavy fire and casualties and their morale is very low? i know there's a screenshot of JSF infantry firing above their heads, but i'm assuming it's because the "gun-cams" are upgrades.... or maybe one of the other two factions is in the situation...

I like your idea as it would increase gameplay, but I prefer that it be the guncam only because it's 2020 and it would be cool to see this technology in an RTS.

i just think it would be a good way to boost the players playing Via Xbl

Question: will there be morale such as men crying for there mother as they clutch a leg that was blown off or say that one has his face in his brothers chest crying WHY while holding wats left of his brother, whups theres another question right there, will u beable to see arms flying off from being shot by tanks and people screaming for their lives or civilians running aruond wit children trying to get out and blood spirting evry where from thos gatling gun infantry.......yes i know thats quiet a messed up and dark question but it would be pretty cool and life like.Question:will the men just slump on the ground when shot by a tank or be bown away wit missin limbs and will the bodies stay to be more realistic than just disapearing and will tanks be used as cover when destroyed if they stay?

lol that was pretty dark http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif
but most of that we wont know intill some gameplay videos are released. but i dont think anyone will break down in the middle of a gun fight simply because there trying to make the game fun. me personally would be annoyed if i lost because my men were crying on the battle field. lol i can kind of see it now.

as far as using blown up tanks for cover i really hope so since it would bring some more level of realism into the game

are the gun-cams that the JSF infantry recieve, an upgrade? or are they standard? also, i asked in one of the other threads, but no one answered. will the B-2 bomber be featured in the game? since i'm pretty sure that it's set to stay in service well into the 21st century... and also how will stealth be portrayed? any ideas guys? maybe the f-35s and f-22s won't be detected until they're right at the enemies "doorstep" or AA missiles won't be able to lock on as easily if they haven't been upgraded sufficiently....

I could see them doing it that for a punishment if you use your troops badly. like leaving infantry under fire for a long time and letting the enemy have a flacking fire on them.

They could do a moral thing as a bonus for more experienced commanders or very successful ones, so if I have never lost a fight my troops will trust me. my troops would hold were others may have broke because they trust that they will have help coming b/c I'm leading. though this may give to much of a disadvantage to new players, not only do they have no experience with the controls, low level troops, but their troops run too? that may give the game to high of a learning curve.

I won't excpect any morale modifier, the game isn't about positioning like the totwal war franchise is, doub't we will see soldiers breaking down on the battlefield. However I'm pretty sure infantery will be pinned under heavy fire like in CoH.

yea bet ur right but ive been wanting to find a very life like game. evry one talks about how the graphics are better and how its going to be revolutionizing the game era but wat bout the actual realness of a game i know graphics are important but wat about thehelos flying over u destroying things, wouldnt u be cheering YEAAAA B*&^$ HOO RAH and wouldnt u charge in with full confidence that ur going to win but wait.....wats that in the distance....ITS A HAIL OF ROCKETS wat was confidence before became horror, u watched as helo after helo r cut down as the fire of hell engulf the sky u realize too late that ervy one is dead except for ur squad mate holding on the peices of flesh hanging on wat used to be his thigh. u try to pull him away from the battle into a building but u hear a rumbling coming towards u and the next and last thing u see is the inside of a tank gun barrel. wouldnt that make the game more life like or ww II like? wouldnt it be terrifing to see the realization of combat, and yes i know that in todays military that might not happen but still it would make the game a lot mor realistic to WW II and i know this is set for WW III but that would still most likely happen in a battle field if that were to happen. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

so from what i understand in order to give each faction a defining trait, so to speak, and also balanced at the same time, the EU focuses on mobile weapons systems, electronic warfare..etc, the Russians focus on "brute force" heavy armor and weapons, but are less mobile, and i guess the US/JSF are kind of a balance of both traits somewhat(firepower and mobility), and also focus on stealth. right?

There are 3 ways units can level up - experience, equipment & training. Units gain experience in combat and as they become veterans their morale and combat skills increase

in one of the Q&A its says that thier moral increases when they level. so that being said there is a morale aspect of the game which i think is cool http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

so what do you think cool or stupid? i mean personally i hated it in the TotalWar games but i might not hate it so much here.
(P.S. sorry if this has allready been talked about.)

Ri5Ky_Bu5ine55
11-23-2007, 06:59 PM
Adding morale to the game is a feature that i believe only makes this game better that it already is. If your are a fan of Dawn of WAr RTS then you will see that Morale makes you play alot more strategically because if your troops morale hits zero they are 400% less effective which means that your best option is to retreat. Adding this to EndWar only adds more startegy and tactics to the gameplay. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

tylniles
11-24-2007, 08:34 AM
yah i watched an interview, and michael deplater was saying that there's a bunch of different ways to get low morale. such as "getting flanked, facing a superior enemy(FYI facing tanks without AT weapons), being outnumbered, seeing their own troops get killed, and also artillery." he was saying that you could actually break your enemy as opposed to having to kill all of them.

Wait so there's not going to be any base-building or economy building or army building but you'll start with 12 customized units and then have to capture certain things and get bonuses kinda like in AOE3 when you can go back to your town home and then they ship extra bonuses to your base and stuff???....

Inquisitor_Zeal
12-17-2007, 06:39 PM
I believe you start with 3 units(read that in one of the links posted last week) and from that you build up your forces. And i guess its kind of similar to AOE3(although i havent played it) when you capture points and kill other units(not 100% sure about that one) you'll get 'reinforcement points' which you can then use to upgrade, call in new units or call in air strikes/ WMDs during the battle and depending on how many points you have.

so there's basically going to be a point system then kinda where you start out with a certain amount of units like you said up there. Then from that by completing goals you then get points. Then you'll have some sort of point purchase board or screen of some sort to pick what you want to bring into the battle kinda like AOE3 with the home town civilazation go to's to use AOE3 cards and such to get stuff...

Hey Guys sorry ive been subscribed to this for awhile but i havent had a chance to introduce myself. So hi yall... but ya i also have a question. is there going to be a limit on the amount of units ur aloud to start a battle with. and will u have an idea of how many ur opponet will have at the begining as well. i was just wondering if i should worry about starting a battle outnumbered. if i need to always throw in all my troops or if itll be on equal playing grounds? like i think it be benificial to have a set number of units on the batte feild for both sides. and if u lose units then u can bring in reinforcments to get back up to that number...but not exceed it

-How far in the FoW will we be able to see? if there is FoW.
-Will there be rader scans etc ?

I can answer #2 for you Greg.

The Fog of War works like this. You can see as far as your units can see. Your camera is affixed to the unit itself. Here is the crux though. You will not be able to see enemies if they are, say, hiding behind a wall waiting to ambush you.

Will the squad specialization in EndWar be like in the 40K games where a few units can be upgraded or can the entire unit be specialized? In 40 K you could spec like 6 of 9 guys and there were limits for how many of each upgrade you can get. Will all units in a squad be upgraded or can we have multiple spec in a squad.

And when you specialize does the unit gain a new soldier or does one of the units get converted say to a designated marksman? Besides sniper and light machine gunners, what other specializations will there be to choose? Will we see rocket or mortar teams, or medics?

Athalis
12-28-2007, 07:59 AM
Will there be clan support in the multiplayer?

It seems to me that it would be very good if you could have your own persistent war-world for your own clan, and perhaps between your clan and another clan thatn runs seperate to the massive main world that exists for every XBL player. This would mean that any member of either clan could play a match on this 'world' whenever there was at least one other person from the other clan on.

Also, can you tell us anything of the physics? Will some of the terrain (particularly in the urban environments) be destructible? If your tanks shoot a helicopter out of the sky, if it crashes on your troops will it take them out with it? Can capture points be destroyed (apart from with WMD)?

tylniles
12-28-2007, 09:18 AM
yes as far as i know, there is clan support. i'm not sure if the terrain is destructible, but the buildings are. if a chopper/plane crashes on your men, it will probably kill them too, but the AI is supposed to be top notch so they'll at least try to run out of the way. yes capture points can be destroyed.

i think civilians could be cool. it would make the games more dynamic. and since there are going to be terrorist npcs as a forth faction. i think it could tie in very well. other than that, i guess they'd just run around and hide. or maybe a map which takes place on the autobahn in germany, and there could be fleeing civilians or something.

probably. it probably has something like in ghost recon where it had "assault and recon" modes. assault they'd be more aggressive and run more, and in recon they would be more cautious and walk through the area. maybe not necessarily walking the whole time, but they'd be more alert. this game is supposed to have some top notch AI, so i'm sure something like this will be in effect.

On wiki it says that Britain is not part of the European faction. Does this mean that it's allied with America?
For me it would be a shame if Britain were to begin allied with America, as Britain is a European country, and we (the British) should be more interested in European affairs than American affairs.

Whatever the case, I'm all for the EEC. If Britain begins in American hands, I'll gladly help liberate my home country.

We don't know for sure which side Britain starts on. There is a lot of reasons that Britain could go either way. Personally, I think Britain should ally with Russia. It would be such a dramatic plot twist! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That would actually be quite interesting, it would give Russia (and their British allies) an edge on a global scale, as they would surround Europe and America.
Nevertheless, I think it would make more sense for Britain to join Europe.

If they will make an expansion, could they consider it?

AliasChurchill
03-27-2008, 12:33 PM
I doubt if they have planned that far. But, just for the sake of it while we're on the subject of expansions, will they ever introduce the southern hemisphere? I'm guessing the answer is "I don't know", but mekal. And speaking of "mekal", does it mean anything in any non-english speaking countries?

This game is just the North Atlantic Theater, though it has been suggested that if a sequel were made, it may take place in a different theater.

Hi all,

I've got a question. Will there be any monthly fee just like in other MMOs like WoW or Warhammer? If yes how much will it be, how the payments will work?

No because monthly fees are implemented in MMORPG (Massively Multilayer Online Role-Playing) games. There are no, or hardly any, fees for other types of Massively Multilayer Online (MMO) games.

Bottom line, no monthly fee.

Dynex: The reason you pay for MMORPG games are because they need people to pay for their servers that you play on, other MMO games do require large servers also, so in other words you do have to pay for some of the other MMOs.

Hi there! I have just played the demo and i have to say this is the best war game i have ever seen! I have sent messages to all my freinds to download the demo. What i would like to know is, will there be a big advantage over whether you are the attacker or defender? I ask this because i personaly found it easier to attack.

I am unsure if this was asked before (I'll reread the thread later) but are the PS3 and Xbox 360 ToW's combined. I don't mean player wise (360 plays ps3 etc.) I mean the results. Does the war on PS3 affect the overall picture. I am assuming on the website it shows how the war is going for the factions.

I'm not sure if the question has been asked yet... i'm at work and i don't much feel like sifting through 10 pages of posts to check... but my question is this:

Will we be able to customize our battalions in the future...?

I know we can't currently... just wondering if you guys will fix that with a patch. I heard it was promised...
