Don't know if you can find him here, haven't seen anyone post by that name, nor in the old forum. And again try ps2chess (http://www.ps2chess.com)
There seems to be many rumors about him. One, I think, is that he has made the site. If so he just might read what you say if you post in there http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

All I know is he played on PS2 Online aganist me on playstation ,on he is rated 2170 with 361 wins and like 52 losses, this guy wiped me off the board and was hoping to learn a thing or two from him, there is no way to communicate playing on Playstation online, all you can do is meet people and play. It sucks , im really trying to find him though he seems very good.

Mario Gaitan is not the www.ps2Chess.com (http://www.ps2Chess.com) creator. Disclaimer: I am not the creator either, but I know the creator's secret identity. Mario Gaitan went from being a fairly good player to being absolutely unbeatable in the span of four weeks. The rumor is that he now uses computer assistance to win--either Fritz, or another playstation2...

There's alot of fuss around him lately, that's for sure http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
But do you have some proff of any kind? A superb game or something? It might just be that you have gotten weaker, or he simply is a strong chessplayer.

Chess is 99 percent tactics. - Teichmann
Chess is really 99 percent calculation. - Soltis.
Modern chess is too much concerned with things like
pawn structure. Forget it - checkmate ends the game. - Short

The title of this thread reminds me of "Searching for Bobby Fischer."
...
Uh, that's all I have to contribute. I'll just be going now.

Nobody can know for sure. I am not a particularly strong player. After roughly 200 ps2-community games I am only ranked at about 1420. I only beat Mario on an unrated game, which he played horribly, but never in a rated game. However there were 3 guys--Zatoichi, justinb, and drunk-chess-dude (justinb is about a 1600 by the USCF)--who could beat him or draw regularly, and about 4 weeks later could not even touch him. The question is whether someone can just "wake up" so to speak, and increase his ranking from 1700 to 2100+ in 8 weeks...
I saw a combination where he sacrificed a rook, for mate in 5--either he is a master, or calculates permutations with a computer. The last 4 losses he has on record occured about 4 weeks ago, and were to AI-aided players, who were testing him. His responses looked as powerful as the machine attacks.
I sided with the "he is just a good player" crowd while he was still losing a few games, say one in four. Now he only wins...
So who knows!

GodJehova,
You may very well be the creator of All, The World, The Heavens....
But you are *not* the creator of www.ps2chess.com (http://www.ps2chess.com). The creator(s) of www.ps2chess.com, (http://www.ps2chess.com,) in a truly altruistic style, have chosen to remain anonymous. But while searching for someone to thank for the site, I discovered the true identity.
I have vowed not to reveal it, though, even to you, Creator of All.
