Saving does not work

I read somewhere that saving works the same way it did in Uru.
But somehow it does not work for me. Everytime I start the game I have to play it from the very beginning.
Additionally the control settings are reset to their defaults.

Saving is not possible in the demo of Myst V (you do not have the camera and personal journal)... wait until the full game.
