Hi guys & gals!
I'm a "Far Cry" nut - desperate for TC mods, the sequel, etc etc.
Anyway, I downloaded "Obsidian Edge" and I just cannot get it to work. I have the latest patched-up version of "Far Cry" (1.33). But when I install it - no mod! The desktop icon is defunct/corrupted - so no luck there. Eventually, I created a folder in the Mods directory called 'obsidianedge', bunged it in there, but still no luck. Yes, "OE" is mentioned in the mod list, but when I activate it - it relaunches "Far Cry" and when you go back into the game ... nothing, just normal "Far Cry". No sign of "OE"! Very frustrating - any idea what is going on?

AMD Athlon 1800+
Windows XP Home Edition (SP2)
GeForce FX5900XT 128mb
776 ram

Cheers,
DANNY

Are you installing this to your 'C' drive?

Yes I am, bjanga. I have two version of "Far Cry" - a 'vanilla' one (patched-up) on my 'C' drive, and a messed-up, modded-up, K9-ed one on my other drive ('D' drive). Unfortunately, "OE" does not work on any of them!

Make sure the shortcut has the correct location of your Far Cry installation and points to the folder in the mods directory with the exact same name.
The one supplied comes with a default farcry.exe location.

Hi - could you supply some details! I still cannot get "OE" to work, and I'm baffled by it all. "OE" does not have its own "exe" file - does it? Yes, the shortcut points to the correct Far Cry location, etc. help!

cheers,
DANNY

The OE shortcut should look something like this:

"C:\Games\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe" -MOD: obsidianedge

(note there is no space between the MOD: and the obsidianedge but I had to put one here since colon-o is a smilyface http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif)

Your FC location might be different, but make sure the OE folder in the ..\farcry\MODS folder is spelled the same as what is in the shortcut.

OE uses the default Far Cry location which some people do not use ie. C:\Program Files\crytek\farcry\Bin32\FarCry.exe or something like that.
