Ive just got the SDK and am quite new to modding.i was wondering if there is a "getting started" tutorial.i've seen the word docs that came with the SDK but they seem to be for someone with previous modding knowledge.I did do some maps for delta force but this seems to be way above my skills.I also visited the UT site and that seems equally difficult to fathom.any help would be really appreciated.

Yes, the modding with UnrealED is difficult. It takes some practise. But do it enough and you will succeed for sure http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Actually - they do. I do, at least:P
Sound modding isn't so hard actually, I've already created a Rifle Sound mod, replaced the original ones with the sounds from Hidden and Dangerous 2.

If you dont want to do a lot of Internet searching, you can get this book:
Mastering Unreal Technology
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/067232692...nce&s=books&n=507846 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0672326922/qid=1121985548/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_sbs_1/103-1116374-1435054?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)
Its a very good book and covers quite a bit.
And it is written for the total novice that doesnt know anything about modding.
It is a very big book because it is more of a reference but you wont have to read everything. You can just read the chapters for the type of modding you are interested in.
