In the players guide, there are some pictures of avatars. One of them is dressed in a suit or jacket. I can't choose that kind of out fit. I only have I think 4 different kinds of shirts and sweaters. And what about hair? Long hair for a guy does not exist? And ther is just one kind of face. I know I can addjust nose angle and so on, but it seems like there should be more faces to choose from?

Some members of Cyan and the DRC have custom avatars with clothing that I've not seen available even during the last stages of beta.

On long flowing hair, I remember that a person working in animation told me that it's hard to get long flowing hair to move right in a game - the physics of that is complicated and resource intensive. I don't know for sure (not in the biz) but it made sense to me.

On the avatars, it looks like there are two basic body type (male and female) and two basic faces. That's the model. You can adjust both the bodies and the faces, but I found that if you get too far at either end of the scale, it looks weird. Small adjustments seem to work better than large adjustments. The age thing doesn't work all that well, it shows age in your face but not your body. The weight thing assumes that all people put on extra weight the same way, nor does it account for the change in how you add weight as you age. On the age and weight thing, as with the other modifications, small adjustments seem to work better than big ones.

To have a real variety in looks, the way people really are, I think you would need to select from a number of different body types and faces (different base models) and then also be able make modifications to the base models. I'm guessing that this is too resource intensive for this game, too hard to do, I don't know. Just a thought.
