Hi guys,

On Wednesday I'll be meeting the Settlers producer and I'd like to ask him some questions on your behalf. So please post below if you have any questions you'd like answered and I'll do my best to ask him about it.

Unfortunately because of time we may not be able to ask all questions you post, but I'll certainly try to ask the most interesting ones.

Hello UbiRazz i just copy and past a question that hasent been answerd yet.

In Settlers 3 and 4 if you had 4 breads a fish 2 hammers and a shovel left you could see them on the ground. I loved that thing, being able to see each item, coal bucket, lingot, scythe, bow, saw, etc.

I would like to know if, by any chance, Settlers 6 (RoaE) would return to that feature or the stocks are gonna be virtual ones, numbers in an inventory like in Anno or Settlers 5?

Ask him this. Thanks!

(EDIT)
I just saw the gameplay videos at Gamershell, they pretty much answer my question. The game it's a Settlers 5 evolution. The Settlers' "border pins" return though.

I would like to know more about the different modes of play, and whether or not it'll offer a free mode or sandbox mode? And if there'll be any editors with it...

If the editor is included in the original game, is it going to be user friendly like the S4 one - or will one need advanced scripting skills, as in HOK?

I met Benedikt this morning and he seems a lovely guy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the questions so far. Please keep them coming and I'll get them answered tomorrow for you. Also, please bear in mind that I'm planning on filming him for the answers and it may take some time to edit the video into something nice looking for release, so don't expect the answers tomorrow night or something http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Resources:

Trees: Can they be replanted or will they resporn?

Mines: Will they resporn?

Its ok found the answer.

Benedikt Grindel: When upgrading a gatherer building, transport will get faster (backpack to pushcart to donkey cart). The player can use this to fasten up the delivery of resources to the storehouse. This is especially important if resources are harvested far away - you really want to speed up your transportation in that situation! If you upgrade your streets to stone streets, the transport will be even faster. At the same time, keep in mind that some resources have to regrow (e.g. wood, wild animal, fish). If you gather these resources too fast, they will disappear and it will take quite some time before they return.

Ok, time up! Sorry, I can't fit any more questions in as I won't be around to get them. Thanks for them all though!

I'd like to know if there is ever any chance of things being combined in the future now that Ubi owns the both companies responsible for my two fav games.

That being Settlers and Knights of Honour.

I know that this would be a major undertaking, yet it would certainly make for one hell of a game, wouldn't it?

Question 2:

Is it possible for a nonspeaking native able to gain employment at your company, or do I need to not only be able to draw, make 3d models (etc.) but speak a fluent german tongue?

Hi guys, I had a small problem in that I took a camera and forgot to bring film. However, Benedikt is being a lovely man and going to film himself answering the questions and then send them over to me in the next week or so, so stay tuned!
