OMG .. Must Resist Temptaition
to post
something . . .
POSITIVE!
well, here it is. This news release, however minor, gives me a small ray of hope.
I would be happy if they could just leak out whether or not replays are in.

What I find "strange" is that the SCAR in the third screenshot seems to have 53 bullets in its current magazine... perhaps C-MAGS are available?

Could just be something they use in the beta as well. Happens in most games where they add stuff for the purpose of testing different things.
The catch is if they remember to remove all fragments of those little additions. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Lets just say that on some not so long ago releases, a few things were left behind by accident.

looks ok
hope they put gun slings on coz it really looks stupid in just bout every game where gun just floats behind the players whn they are using nades or pistols

Unless it turns out the Special Forces are ahead of schedule and will be finished with their invisible SCAR by 2010 (it's on a very early prototype stage right now), I hardly think so.
Maybe if you shoot from the hip? I mean, then you wouldn't have the weapon all in your face, right? Rambo style! That would be cool!!

Does this mean there is no hope for the original style of GR, meaning 3 squads, and jumping from player to player. These screens only show the GR2 squad stlye setup. I read in the interview that they will make the current setup much more player controlled, meaning you can set waypoints and command points in game for your squad, to assign them specific tasks. I don't know about this; any game I've ever played where you give orders to your AI teamates there are either never enough specific commands to actually use them as you wish or they are just too stupid, IE in Swat4 your guys tend to crowd a room, even if its just a small one. IF the game allows me to give a specific command to one of my squad members, like "sneak up on that sentry, from around back of that building over there, and cut his throat quietly, in 3 minutes" then I'm in. Otherwise you cant beat switching to one of your teammates in GR and using a silenced pistol or sniper rifle to take out your target, then switching to your assult team right away. Sorry that this is kinda long but I wanted to try and make a point here. Something to think about Grin.

Why guys are stuck up on this weird idea of controlling a "flying" camera that ocasionally shoot bullets??
Leave the goddam gun where it must be!

It's called IMMERSION... One thing it does not obstuct your view.. Plus having it as an option wouldn't be bad...

Hmmm and your thinking that the gun is where it is SUPPOSED to be in those screen shots?
Riiight
Untill someone can do it right I dont want it there.
Your welcome to it, I dont want it, most of folks that got this game to the game that it was DONT want it.
You do that's fine, happy for ya, now go off someplace and quietly pat yourself on the back or something.
Or better yet, try re-reading what was said.
Let's start with Hope that is something you can turn off. That would imply an OPTION. Now, I know it's a bit of a reach for ya here, but someone may actually like something you don't. Hense option It isn't a very big word. You should be able to get around it. Options are a good thing, you want a fpwv great, most don't and OPTION means you get what you want and so do we.
See that wasn't too hard
Thanks! and have a wonderful day!

The best immersion ever made is called iron sights or see-thru scope. If you don't like this view, then realism isn't really your thang. When you fire a real gun, it's gonna obstruct your view in a way or another, however it will also make you shoot a LOT more accurately. Maybe you like to fire from the hip as Rambo? They should give an option for run'n'gun teens as well...

And you don't have to get all prissy because someone doesn't agree with you.
They are entitled to their opinion no different then you are. And you yourself do not talk for everyone either, so they are therefore allowed to express themselves no different then you are.
Remember, OPTIONS, by having that you please everyone from those who want it to those who don't.
So quit getting all prissy because someone happens to have a different wish or opinion then yours.

So we all can agree that everyone has their own opinions about options. However what may not be so apparant is that only mine matter.
So henceforth I will direct GRIN to only allow fpv, replays, 3-squad interchangable control of teammates, and always make BsrRuggbutt's player wear pink when online (hey, he wears it at home)
GRIN: make it so ...

Having OPTIONS is a very good idea. Though I like the FPWV and am VERY HAPPY that they added it, I would still like the option of turning it off, for people who dislike it. That said, I don't think it is fair to state that 'Most do not want the FPWV'. A lot of polls have been conducted on this topic and most of the times it has been a fairly equal split. I have seen many many hardcore fans clamouring on these forums about FPWV.
It appears from the screen-shots that the placement of the gun is a bit too high on the screen. It may obstruct the view a bit and needs to be lowered and brought more to the centre.
I RAISE A TOAST TO THE INTRODUCTION OF FPWV. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Many know my feelings on FPWV so I wont go into why I dislike it, but when on patrol, you should not see your weapon ever. If door knocking, you may, but on patrol, you only see it when firing it.

They shouldn't leave the weapon view there simply for show - if there's no "aim down the sight" feature, it's really pointless and even disturbing. I want FPWV, but not just a model that "dances" around the screen.
They better add some good animations for the weapon view (such as having your character put the weapon down/out of view when not assaulting, looking towards a friendly unit and while taking cover) and again, the ability to actually use iron/optic sights. Otherwise, it just won't do it.

Wow that Delta Hoot guy needs to take 5...
Probably a lot of ppl disagree with me but I actually think that the COD FPWV and the AA FPWV were the best ones done to date. They did not obstruct the vision when firing and gave you the opportunity to fire from the hip and from the ironsight. Also the COD one allowed other people in MP games to see when a player was firing from the hip or from the ironsight.
Sorry if i'm not making a lot of sense I'm really sick and have hardly slept for 2 days now, but I hope you guys get what I'm trying to say... I don't want another FPWV like RvS.

IMO, there should be a FPWV, the weapon would be across the chest when running, behind a friend, or when u feel safe; you then bring up the weapon if you feel a threat, or need to supress an enemy while looking for cover; iron sights/optics when you want to start with the real aiming. I guess the closest I've been to that was OFP, probably cause you could partially move your head with the mouse, and the weapon would be out of your field of view.
