Someone, i beleive it was Shaolin Spider, said something about the newest console...Phantom...well Infinium Labs has finally released some info on it...

You can go to phantom.net (http://phantom.net) and download a movie...unfortunately my internet conncetion is going so slow tonight that i cant DL it...

It is a PC.

Windows XP, compact form factor motherboard, and no optical drives.

You pay a monthly fee to access the "Phantom Network" (which is rather funnier a name than they likely intended), as well as paying Phantom for the games you want to play.

Then, as long as you keep paying every month, you can continue to play the games you... purchased. As soon as you stop paying Phantom, or disconnect the console from a broadband connection, you can no longer play any of the games you, erm, "paid for".

And this is better than paying for the games then playing them free off someone's IP or a server how?

Even if there was no monthly fee, downloading a whole 1 GB game from the internet will take longer than simply going to the store and come back with the game. Maybe if internet connections become fast enough in the future, downloading full games will become more practical and will be popular with conventional PCs and video game consoles, like playstation 4 maybe.
