I wonder if Ubi will be having a showing of Lockdown at the Leipzig Games Convention? It would give me a chance to see it first hand. I guess I will find out come the 18th and 19th.
I'll have to wing any questions for any devs who may be there.

I am sure some reps from the German subsidiary will be there. And I think the game will be shown. But I do not think any Rainbow Six devs will attend.

I had heard they might be... or I hope so. At least we should learn a lot more about it then.

I got to play the XBox version of Lockdown and I have to say, I wasn't impressed. The controls were a pain to use. I expect to look up if I move a joystick up, instead it was backwards.
The brackets around the tangos were laughable.
I kind of liked the point and click way point system, but still, it doesn't meet the standeards of R6 with being able to plan the missions before hand. Lockdown for console screams CS IMO.
Mahub.Ubi.Dev, you should have heard all the German Ubi personell when I finally told them my nick after introducing myself with my real name. Once they heard my nick, they knew exactly who I was.
I will admit, everyone was great and treated me nice even if I am a bit of a hard case here on the forums. I spent a lot of time with Bo from GRIN (developing GRAW for PC) and Mathieu Girard (in between press briefings). I spoke with them over the course of 6 hours between the 2 days I was there. I wish some of the R6 devs could have been there, I could have killed 2 birds with one stone.
Maybe I can get an exclusive interview?!

The control can be inverted in the options, takes about 5 seconds to do.

Can be toggled on or off at your own preference in the options, again, takes about 5 seconds.

Well, the previous console games worked the same way and they were still a success on console. While its not what a PC fan expects and wants, it obviously worked for the console.

Good to know that they are options and not always like that.

That is something I am unfamiliar with and as you noted, we PC fans do want more than just point and click. Don't get me wrong, it would be a great addition to compliment the running of the mission once it has actually started should things change afterwards. Still, for the PC it should not replace the mission planning stage.

Hopefully Yves Guillemot has a good sense of humor as invariably, it was his dime that I was in Germany on. I guess, most of Ubi has an idea of who I am by now. I guess that comes with the territory of being outspoken. The collective groan (or was it a sigh, hard to say) from everyone said a lot. Everyone there understood where I was coming from and why my opinions are what they are. I don't think any of them blamed me for my observations and all seemed genuinely relieved that I wasn't as big of an **** that some make me out to be.

I'll see about getting some questions around and getting approval then.
