Hey, just wondering if anyone else was a fan of the (too) short series Rome on HBO.
I just finished watching them on DVD since I don't have HBO. And I must say, there are way too many crappy tv series out there that lasts forever it seems, then there are gems like Rome that only lasts 2 seasons...
If you haven't seen it, just go out and buy them now, don't waste your money renting them, you will want to buy them afterward anyhow, so might as well just buy them and check it out yourself. It'll be well worth it.
The two main characters are the best to watch, Titus Pullo and Lucius Verenus, although it ends rather sadly...
Who else here are fans??

Wow! Demon and I agree on something! This was a great series; great story, acting and production values.

Next, you're both going to find out you use the same brand of condom. The bonding begins.

Watched those when they 1st came out, brilliant tv. Also nice to see someone from my part of the world (NE England,Titus Pullo ) in a major drama.
On a slightly different note, just watched the last of The Wire. Almost certainly the best TV show I've ever seen. You Yanks have done some great shows over the years (The Wire, The Shield, Sopranos, Hill ST Blues, CSI, NYPD Blue etc.)

Well, there are rumblings of a possible Rome movie that MIGHT depend on the success of Punisher: Warzone since Ray Stevenson is one of the main characters. I guess if they feel Stevenson becomes a big enough household name after Punisher, they would be willing to put up the money to produce a Rome movie. So I hope PW does well.
I was going to consider giving The Wire a try until you listed the other shows you really like. I more-or-less hate ALL of those... lol http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I'm a big Wire fan too. Loved how they showed the perspective from every level of the city from City Hall to the courtyard in the projects where the drug dealers and dope fiends were.

Lol Demon, don't let me put you off it, it's a great show. Very complex but rewarding to watch.
Apparently it was completely overlooked at the Emmys, seems a shame it wasn't recognised as the TV great it is.
Tacamo, loved how all the loose ends tied up eventually and how each season focused on a different part of the city (drug dealers, police, shipyards, media). A very well-constructed drama.
