I see news of the "console" expack...but that came out at around the time the PC Expack was "targeted" for release!????

How about some real PC involvement? Like pak's question above or the ones about putting more community custom maps and a proper Punkbuster config on the offical US servers?

Try actually being involved in the PC community that you're supposedly managing for once...who knows...you might like it. There's some very loyal Crytek/Ubisoft customers here.

I think as a small community it should be very easy to communicate with each other.

Some custom maps on the UBI servers would be really great. These mappers and map pack developers have worked really hard and their work reflects in a positive way on the game and on UBI. Putting those custom maps on some of your server would mean a great gesture to all these people.

Also it seems like on the European Ubisoft servers that the PB config has actually been updated. Some news/info about that would also be great.

1) Keep your Microsoft consoles advertisements for the FCI console forums, like you have done for this thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5161005423/m/3491061773/p/1). The pics seem to have disappeared but they were displaying an Easter egg with a mercenary and a trigen playing together on a Xbox. Absolutely silly IMO!

2) Like DocSEAL said, the only thing looking better on the Xbox 360 is the water. All the other graphics aspects are not even on par with the OLD 2004 PC version! This movie is just one more proof that NEW consoles are far behind gaming PCs in the graphics department!

3) Even if graphics were better on the new consoles, they all have a dramatic flaw preventing them from being good platforms for FPS: THE GAMEPAD! The consoles may be good for sports and car racing games, but the keyboard-mouse system is the only one acceptable for shooters. Aiming with an analog stick is really a pain in the ***. And trying to 'render' all the aspects of a complex and deep tactical shooter like Rainbow Six with a gamepad (think about the planning phase) is just silly. If you had a powerful racing car, would you drive it on a dirt road full of bumps? Playing a FPS with a GAMEPAD is silly as well…

4) Even if graphics were better on the new consoles, I DON'T CARE! What I care about is GAMEPLAY! Have you noticed that it is not Far Cry that has been ported on the 360, but Far Cry Instincts (FCI) instead. Not really surprising considering that the supposedly powerful new console has only 512 MB of RAM… LOL, PCs have commonly 2 GBs of RAM these days! Does FCI have huge free roaming non-linear levels? NO! Does FCI have clever and challenging enemy AI? NO! FCI for Xbox 360 is just another linear and dumped down average shooter, no matter the 'supposed' quality of the graphics.

5) Geiger, it’s a PC forum right here! Moreover, it's not the CRAZY FROG forum! The Far Cry (PC) forums and Rainbow Six (PC) forums have some things in common: mature people (not 13 years old kids), intelligent people (we know the difference between cheap game platforms [read consoles] and good game platforms [read PCs]) and wealthy people (we have the money to pay for the difference). You won't succeed in trying to sell consoles here, nor the crappy games that play on these crappy platforms.

6) Geiger, instead of trying to convert us to crappy consoles, explain us why an exceptional PC game like Far Cry has not got AT LEAST one (1) expansion pack ?

7) Geiger, explain us why new clever concepts brought to the 'PC' table by talented developers (like RSE did with R6 and GR, and Crytek did with FC) just get washed out and turned into average console shooters by UBI ? And explain us why UBI push the unexplainable up to port the average console stuff (like R6 Lockdown) back to the PC ?

8) Geiger, we all know UBI is going to drop the PC market sooner or latter. Can you ask to your 'boss' to sell the shooter franchises (FC, R6, GR) to a PC publisher before doing so? (Don't answer this one, I'm just having a wet dream…)

9) Geiger, what was the purpose of your post? Provoke us? Scoff at us? Does UBI has so much disdain for it's PC customers? That's gross!

Look, you have a hatred for consoles as I can see, but they are not inferior, they're different. We might not have mice and keyboards however we have 2000 dollars worth of computing power that cost 400 dollars and we can play this communicating with people sitting in our sofas watching large televisions.
Admitidly the 360 will be overtaken soon by PCs, but just like you said, it's about about gameplay, and in alot of peoples opinions lying back on a chair relaxing while taking trash at your friends is more fun that being huddled over a 15" monitor typing messages to people.
I've had alot of experience with both. And in my experience an Xbox with LIVE is far more fun than PC gaming unless your one of those people who play LAN games, LAN games on counter-strike own.

Don't say instincts is a weak spinoff. It's an awesome game, the single player sucks and is lacking that awesome AI, but the multiplayer dwarphs Far Crys Multiplayer. In reality they are different games, instincts merely has the island setting and the Far Cry name, it's drasticly different.

TBH: I never played the single player for more than half an hour, I played the multiplayer for short amounts of time too, but the real reason I liked it was because of the Map Editor. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
