i had this problem also, but i had an ATI 9700 TX instead of a geforce, but basically what was happening was the card was overheating, and crashing. Call whoever you got your computer from and try their tech support, but if all else fails, they (or you) might have to replace the card.

while in the main menu, click "option", then select the third layer called "video" and set the resolution to 640x480 and the details to "low"...
If your Geforce is getting too hot it should run now or it should run at least abit longer.
But do it shortly after a reboot...

Geforce 4 TI 4200 is junk my friend had one and it would overheat, he replaced it with another cheap card the $99 FX series. I was reading on lots of webpages of people complaining of the thing overheating seems the product is made with cheap parts. I would go with TI4600 mine is still running strong.
Remember you get what you paid for.

first make sure your card is seated tightly in the slot , then check monitor cable connections to make sure it did not come loose from the card or if so the monitor , then check to make sure you have correct drivers for card and for the monitor... having a good power supply 300 to 450 watt is good also, then if all those things check out ok... do as they say above lower settings
always a good ideal to have good case cooling by adding a couple of fans.. hope that helps ...
