I know a lot of games have been over-hyped over the years, especially in this genre, but I'm thinking this one is being given the credit it's due. I know for one I can't wait for it to come out!

Ive pld the demo and to be honest i think its a bit pap. It's just Far Cry, but you can go invisible. So nahh as far as im concerned its over hyped, shame http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I'll be getting this, enjoying the demo at the moment.

@ghengis this game is very like far cry, but far cry was one of the best selling games of it's time. They've just changed the plot and refined the gameplay and massivly improved the graghics. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
The demo is an early build of the game engine so hoping the final game will look even better http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Far Cry with invisible suit?......Sounds wicked if you ask me! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

The graphics look top notch as well, and it's suppose to be able to play on older machines without too much loss in the graphics/sound departments. I guess we'll see!? Can't Wait! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

The demo never worked for me. Perhaps it was corrupted, I dunno. Several of the BlitzPigs have tried it and all say the same thing, great graphics engine, same old boring FPS monster shoot 'em up, with Koreans thrown in for some target variety.

I'll pass.

I wish the Cry Engine folks would do a serious simulation with that engine. But maybe it can only do jungle/island terrain?

Would that be a problem?
Mabee they could do an island hopping campain following the US marines in the pacific.
That would make a good first person shooter.

Totally agree. My dream is something like Armed Assault with these graphics. The Crysis demo was a let down for me, nothing spesial. But pretty.

I can say that Crysis offers the most stunning graphics ive seen so far. And im playing on DX9. !

Havent even seen the DX10 quality yet.
Especially effects like explosions and tracers look awesome.

But its not just the graphics, the sound is also excellent. The sound of the weapons is very realistic and has a nice bite when you play it on a 5.1 system.

Here is a short gameplay video i just made http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Im playing on 1280x1024 with no anti-aliasing and shadows aswell as Volumetric effects set to medium. Everything else is set to "high"

I really need to switch some stuff down to medium http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

I just had a nice firefight in a small improvised village.

Its absolutely stunning that can destroy almost everything in this game http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I threw a handgrenade into a hut and Bang!

The roof was blown into pieces and away and the walls were blown outwards making the entire structure collapse physically correct. IN REALTIME ! Nothing pre-rendered.

Debris raining down all over the place. Cups, dishes ,a coffee machine , everything breaking into their parts as they hit the ground. And nothing of that stuff disappeared after it was destroyed http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif A giant pile of ruble was formed without any collision errors.

The Half Life 2 physics engine is a bad joke against this http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Such damage model and real time calculation for a ship in SH-IV would create awesomely spectacular explosions. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Someone uploaded the cool parachute intro of the Demo http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Crysis Intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08iObIXgeIc)

The original plan for that was different. The player was to land alone on the island using this instead of a classic parachute

Some of you will know that as i posted it here before

But it was then changed to the new version seen in the demo, as it was necessary for the story that the player lands on a pre-defined place.

It would had been lame to give the player this thingy but prevent him steering it on its way down.

The "Greif" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif

His english is just perfect http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Greif at some parachuters convention (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVVrX061gP4)

The helmet and the air supply are still mock-ups.

The real helmet will feature a HUD which shows velocity, height, speed , will have a night vision feature and oxygen supply.

They insult you in english with a nice asian accent http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Beside those insults, they seem to speak Korean. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

But the player and his squad speak nice backdoor american english and make use of the bad F and MF word when feeling its necessary http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Ive noticed a really stupid error in the game http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

See that mushroom cloud and those little smoke columns next to it ?

http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r198/Frollkiller/Crysis2007-11-0117-19-42-51.jpg

They propably looked at old footages of atmospheric nuclear tests as reference for modeling the explosion and thought these belong to it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

AND i bet they used this one here as reference
See the columns ?

http://ndep.nv.gov/boff/upshot.jpg

These smoke columns have absolutely nothing to do with the explosion itself. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

They were caused by little smoke trail rockets that got fired into the air seconds after the nuclear device detonated.

When the scientists looked at the photos later on , they used these smoke columns to determine the size of the mushroom cloud and its speed of rise. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Somehow i doubt that the North Koreans have time for such scientific measures when they bring their tactical nukes into action http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Oh FSAA works alright, but considering my 8800/C2D is having enough of a job just running the game on hacked 'very high' settings, any amount of AA/AF greater than 2x just KILLS performance.

Celeon999
11-10-2007, 03:29 AM
My settings :

8800 GTS 320MB
2 GB RAM (Dual Channel Mode)

AA off
Texture Quality : Medium
Volumetric Effects : Medium
Shadows : Medium

Everything else is on High

The frame rate drops to 14 FPS in areas whith much details.

But i must say that i only have a relatively weak 2,2 Ghz Single Core Athlon.

Its really time to get me a Dual Core processor.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Now that the Socket 939 standard runs out and will propably disappear in 2008 , Athlon 64 X2 processors are mega cheap.

Im thinking of buying two Althon 64 X2 4200+ (2x 2200 Mhz) for about 100 €. (One for me , one for my dad)

Realjambo

The price of 939 X2's have certainly plummeted recently Celeon - it's a good time to buy I say. I have the 4400, Goose Green found the last 4800 (or 4600?) in the country and snapped it up - I'll always remember that http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif but what is around is even cheaper now than it was then.

I had an idea - to answer your question - just send me your Crysis and I'll play it through and then tell you how it performs with a dual core http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I had the single core 4000 - I forget now the cache - I think it was 1mb. The 4000 was feted as a decent gaming CPU, and to be honest I bought the 4400 X2 almost on a whim to try to alleviate my 'upgrade fever' http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

You are correct that dual core's help in running multiple programs - for example I can burn CD's and DVD's quicker whilst surfing the net at the same time as I did with the 4000 single core. Anti Virus scans seem quicker too but I am sure there are people on the forum far more qualified then I to explain the true advantages of dual core.

It's difficult to benchmark how games benefit from it. I've read arguments for and against dual cores. Perhaps had I had my really old AMD 3000 754skt and went straight to the 939skt 4400 X2 I would have noticed more of a difference.

It makes me mad the speeds of the current generation of CPU's can achieve, to say nothing of the modest prices too but of course that would require a motherboard change and reactivating Windows etc etc *yawn*

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif I know an Ebay seller that has 939 X2's for sale if you want the link Celeon, he's UK based - I'll PM it if you like (and no, it's not me!)

...Now Intel have the monstrous 'Quad-Core' and AMD are following suit - Where will it end? I can run the game at everything on HIGH with a single 7950GT and I am running the old socket 939 with a dual core 4400+ X2 Athlon with 1MB cache per socket. (no wonder the CPU is so hard to find now)

FSAA was off, I tried to overrride with 4x FSAA cause I need FSAA, but for some reason its not showing and the FSAA in side the game engine always resets to 0 when I try to save.

I can run the game fine with everything high, but sometimes things get shaky during heavy fire fights. so I play just fine at medium on everything smooth. I got 25 to 30 FPS using the 64bit mode in XP 64.

too bad I can never see DX 10 effects, I dont have vista nor a DX10 card.

too bad I can never see DX 10 effects, I dont have vista nor a DX10 card.

Actually you can. I believe Rodan54 can tell you how to do that.

It is possible to activate several "Very High" features in WinXP and DX9 by modifying certain game files.

This spawned a controversy on the net's gaming forums wether DX10 features are really that Vista exclusive as Microsoft and several game developers claim.

Check this wikipedia article and look under Chapter 4.4 Demo

Just ordered me two Athlon 64 x2 4200 (2x 2.2 GhZ)

One for me, one for my dad (for christmas) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif

Just 110 € http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

By the way :

Anyone ever run the Benchmarks which the Crysis Demo offers ?

It seems that the weakness of my processor is the main problem for my performance drops.

The CPU takes the whole physics engine calculation.

My results :

GPU Benchmark

Average FPS

Test 0 : 21,52
Test 1 : 22,73
Test 2 : 22,50
Test 3 : 22,41

CPU Benchmark

Average FPS

Test 0 : 14,89 (This 2 frame difference is strange)
Test 1 : 16,74
Test 2 : 16,38
Test 3 : 16,42

16 FPS is way too low for glitch free gaming

I hope two cores will bring a nice boost here.

Any of you who already have the game....Could you look into your \game\localized folder ?

There or in the installation folder should be a file called english.pak and should be just around 180 MB in size.

Could you upload that file for me somehwere ?

I think so. There is only a "Directx9c" folder on the disk but it contains DX10 labeled .cab files too.

Celeon999

Review :

Graphics 5 of 5 Stars *****

Absolutely stunning. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif But very hardware hungry. There is plenty of eye candy. I even spotted a very realistic rainbow over a waterfall. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Especially explosion effects rock your screen. A powerful blast ,fireball, sparks ,glowing particles and debris flying in all directions are modeled.

When you fire into water and it splashes into your face you can see it slowly running down your helmet, the same happens when coming out of water. Like the SH-IV pericope effect but a bit longer lasting and even more realistic.

If you have a high-end system and looking for the appropriate food...Crysis is the right game to test how powerful your system really is.

Sound 4 of 5 points ****-

Very good sound in that game. The weapon sounds have lots of bite. Your hear rounds flying past you , get deflected etc. everything is there.

If you played Far Cry you will already expect this : The jungle is alive ! You hear birds singing (and you will see plenty of them flying in the sky), insects buzzing, monkeys, even frogs when being in the near of water.

The aliens , have a spooky electronic humming sound http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif and make your HUD go crazy when near.

Gameplay : (Im not that far into the game by now so no rating here)

You DONT have complete freedom of movement on the isle. The path you can take to your next objective is pretty much outlined by obstacles like high hills but the path is W I D E . http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

There a dozen different ways to get from point A to B and you can choose which one you want to take. Avoid the enemy completely ? Frontal attack ? Sneak past him ? Your decision.

There are primary and secondary objectives that come in from time to time. Its your decision to fulfill the secondary objectives or ignore them.

The game is pretty much about stealth. Its usually the smartest option to sneak past the enemy than fighting him as the Koreans vastly outnumber you.

Very very very good cinematic sequences using the ingame engine propel the story forwards at several points within the game.

The weapons are all futuristic versions of the ones of our time (Remember that the game takes place in 2020).

The SCAR weapon for example is not the one the u.s special forces use at the moment but a future version that looks like a fusion of the original and the H&K XM8

Therefore the North Koreans are pretty high-tec equipped themselves. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

They use network centric warfare, GPS jammers, uptodate body armour , 6th generation tanks... the Democratic Republic seems to have everything what modern armies of our times have to offer.

The physics engine is very impressive, especially when you blow a structure up.

Short :

Its worth the wait http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Celeon - thanks for your well considered and well written review http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I really enjoyed Far Cry but I don't have Crysis yet. I will certainly get it when I upgrade my PC (before the end of the year).

I notice you give the game 4 out of 5 for sound... As you say, the sound in Far Cry is excellent and I would expect the same attention to detail in Crysis, so I'm interested to know what stopped you giving it 5/5? Was it the problem you posted earlier about the English language voices?

Yes that language thing (Propably just the german version) and some little details which are missing.

Maybe its just my 5.1 system but your footsteps in the game dont really reflect the type of ground you are walking on with a specific sound.

For instance, you walk on grit but it doesnt make a different sound like when you would walk on sand or a asphalt road.

This would add greatly to the atmosphere....

I just dont understand why they deliver the game with language limitations in different versions. That just dont seem to make sense. Why was it necessary to remove the english language from the german DVD http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Ok the file was easy to get via the Internet but thats not really a answer as they forbid the official forums to upload the file there.

The language files are just around 200 MB in size so i doubt that there was any space problem on the DVD's.

To that other question : No. The freedom of movement is as big as it was in Far Cry.

I just wanted say that you cant freely choose your path to the next objective just like in Far Cry. For example you just cant make 10 mile detour to reach your target like in Operation Flashpoint or Armed Assault. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The new drivers gave me a nice additional 5 FPS boost http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

As my review about the sound was a bit dry and cant really reflect the reality....

I decided to record another vid showing the beginning of the awesome level "Assault Crysis" and post it on youtube. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

The Democratic Republic lets its muscles play in that one http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Note : The low FPS and the long glitches are caused by Fraps which i used for recording and do not occur when i play normally.

The vid also demonstrates some of the awesome graphics of the game. The explosion even leave powder smoke clouds http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

At least as much as you can see at this weak video resolution. The sounds is of course only recorded in stereo and all sounds and explosion not coming from the front are missing.

Enjoy !

Wonder if I play it in DX9 mode if I will get any more of a performance increase?

Looks great in DX10 with the 8600GT, but it's not exactly a 8800GTX in SLI mode either http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I'm having to use YASU to cloak my virtual drives as well. If anyone has any problem after install that states something like "Conflict with emulation" when you first boot the game you will have to use YASU as well to prevent Crysis securom 7 from detecting your virtual drives.

It kinda peeves me that game developers are so bent out of shape about piracy these days that they resort to attacking EVERYONE's computer with anti-piracy mess like this. It makes it a burden for those people who buy legit software and lets face it, piracy will never cease or be controlled. Usually it takes hackers a day or less to crack these things, so they really do nothing but make EVERYONE's life a pain. If software developers don't want anyone to pirate their stuff, then they should just stop making games altogether.

Anyways, I'm running this game smooth as a babys behind in all medium settings. IT STILL LOOKS GREAT IN MEDIUM so I'm happy I saved myself from buying a GPU that I really couldn't afford just for a few extra features in the eye-candy department. At first I was worried that I would only be able to play in all low settings (and still get lag), but I was surprised that my rig is handling medium settings as well as it is - plus I'm using DX10 to boot.

I'm about to try running it in DX9 mode though and see if that increases anything. I doubt it though but we'll see.

OK! It's like the difference between night and day when it comes to DX9 and DX10 in Crysis.

I just ran a test at the first village to see how Crysis handles them. The first village is a perfect area to test this, since there are gunboats, distant mountains, lots of water, several armed troops, several chickens walking around, tons of crabs, an armed jeep, and the village of course.

Test System:

OS: MS Windows Vista-32bit Home Premium

Graphics: Nvidia 8600GT w/512MB

Memory: 4GB of system RAM (Only 2.5 is read though by the 32-bit version of Vista)

Processor: Intel 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo

RESULTS:

DX10 - All settings at MEDIUM - FPS 18-29
DX9 - All settings at HIGH - FPS 32-45

The game looks EXTREMELY good on DX9 with all settings on HIGH and runs VERY SMOOTH.

The game looks a little better than the DX9 version but plays rough compared to it for the price of better shading features. Actually, I'd say DX9 looks 10X better on HIGH settings than DX10 on medium settings. Plus it runs smoother! Go figure http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

VERDICT:

Go with DX9 right now and enjoy the graphics maxed out with the smoother gameplay. DX10 is not optimized yet and I doubt the graphics cards of today will be able to utilize it fully compared to the graphic cards of tomorrow.

I just love driving the gunboats up and down the rivers mowing down the shrubs, trees, and korean army with that mounted machine gun! AWESOME!

The maps are HUGE for those that doubt it. Yes they are limited in a way (meaning you can't swim all the way back home to the US or UK for instance), but you have pretty much unlimited freedom on the island maps. They are limited by HUGE cliffs that surround the maps that force you to eventually finish your goals. There's lots of rocks and cliffs to climb up using super jump and super speed features built into the nanosuit.

There are lots of enemy patrols wondering around. I think some of them are spawns because I thought I had wiped out the whole jungle of north koreans the other night and still I found patrols to practice my shooting skills on! Most of them stick to the roads and trails I've noticed, making it easy to sneak past them in the thickness of the jungle or ambush them.http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif

The sounds on my rig I'd rate with a 5/5 score.

I use SB X-fi Gamer with surround sound headphones. I'm not sure what's wrong with Celeon's sounds, but I can hear the difference between walking on the muddy sand of beaches, concrete, grass, etc.

Yes you are right. There was something wrong my 5.1 settings in Windows. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Wait until you get to the level "Assault Crysis" from the video ive posted on the other page.

There , the effects really blow you away. Its a huge battle at night with dozens of soldiers firing.

You will see the most realistic looking tracers ever in a game. They even produce a nice glow in you night vision mode. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

But the level before that featured the so far most stunning effects.

There is a point at which fog comes up while driving down a river at nighttime. You cant really see far and its very spooky.

Then the just arrived u.s carrier task force launches air strikes at the korean bases and you just hear the deep booms in the far distance several kilometers away and see the flashes from the detonations and AA fire just as a blurred glow at the horizon. Awesome http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

A red flare is launched at some point and it renderes a similar red blurry glow on the jungle through all that fog in the air. It looks awesome realistic just if taken out of a movie.

Reminded me strongly of that scene from Apocalypse Now when they reach that bridge at night which the vietcong blows up every day and the u.s soldiers try to repair it every night under constant guerillia attacks. Spooky !

Reminded me strongly of that scene from Apocalypse Now when they reach that bridge at night which the vietcong blows up every day and the u.s soldiers try to repair it every night under constant guerillia attacks. Spooky !

This game is by far the BEST first-person-shooter game I've ever played. I feel like a cross-breed of RAMBO, PREDATOR, and the BIONIC WOMAN. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

There's obviously lots of references to all of those movies/shows in this game. The only thing that's missing is a futuristic knife of some sort. Would be cool to be able to throw one at enemy soldiers in cloak mode or sneak up behind them to slit their throats for stealthy kills.

Also, I wish you could do more with dead/unconcious bodies. You can't pick them up and throw them at their buddies or pick them up and hide them from wondering patrols (Only if you grab them while they are alive using the super strength mod on the nanosuit). You can't shoot them anymore after they are already dead (I love overkill and extra gore http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif).

So the game isn't perfect by any means, but it is still the BEST FPS game out there right now. Hopefully someone will make some cool mods for this game that allow those features mentioned above. Then it would be just about perfect. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Yes, the fog in the game is creepy. Did you find that graveyard at the end of that one river on level 2 I think?!? I kept hearing alien howling noises the further I ventured down that way, and creep myself out and decided to turn back. Spooky is an understatment!

That is actually not a limit in the game engine. Ragdolls were in the game before, even when ppl were dead. you could pick them up and throw them around. Also, initially when you shot chicken and turtles (or other animals), they kinda exploded. Another neat feature, the freeze gun, was kinda hampered, too.

When you froze a guy with it and then crack the statue, you were able to pick up a frozen arm and clobber others with it. Fun, but the german youth protection bureau was not impressed. (Crytek is a german based company in Frankfurt) SO they had to take out all of these gadgets again. EA also wanted to have a unified version world wide, no extras for different areas of the globe. So everybody has this toned down version now.

Unluckily the version I got only had turkish, russian and german as languages available. Need the english one urgently.

I love that SMG that you're using there Celeon! It's got some power for up close and personal combat! I have a hard time making my mind up on what weapon configuration I want to use. I find myself constantly switching from one weapon to another! I hate only being able to carry a few. Wish I could get rid of my pistols and exchange them for a shotgun or sniper rifle. I usually mod my assault rifle with a sniper scope and use the strength mod for accurate/controlled shots, but the assault rifles are weak at long range and it takes several hits to down an enemy. The sniper rifles are VERY powerful at long rang, but I hate giving up my SMG for one. AAARRRGGGHHHH, it's just so hard to decide!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Bought it, playng it, loving it! Very nearly didn't buy as when I checked the specs it needs geforce 6800 at least, and the EA site gave me a red cross as I only have a 6200TurboCache. Oh well, I've got a few other games here to try out now. Just tried Soldier of Fortune Payback and it is horrible. Well, maybe that's a bit harsh. It reminds me of Rainbow Six Lockdown or Vegas as far as graphics go. It has good depth perception and fair eye candy, but nothing glamorous. Maybe it's because I went to it AFTER Crysis is why I am so dissappointed in it. Most reviews of the game are terrible as well, but I think some of them are a bit too harsh on it.

Sounds are decent in this game. Weapons sound realistic. Limbs and heads come off the enemies a bit too easily to seem realistic. One shot to the thigh should NOT take a guys leg off in most cases. But it's a mindless FPS that provides some gorey entertainment for a few hours. Nothing to write home to Mom about though.

I'm installing Gears of War right now as I type this. HOPEFULLY it will be a good game. Most reviews of it are VERY good, so I'm crossing my fingers! I have no clue as to what it's about though? I think it's a team based third person shooter, so that can be a change for me, since I haven't played one of those since Freedom Fighters (WHICH I LOVED BTW).

I also have Call of Duty 4 sitting here on the desk, but I'm holding that one for last since I know it will be good and wrap me up in multiplayer for a good long while. If I started that one first then I would never get around to trying any of the others most likely.

I knew Crysis would be good, but I knew it would be short in a way. I plan on replaying again sometime (Hopefully with some cool mods), but the thrill of it is over (unfortunately). It WAS the best FPS game I have ever played. VERY system taxing though and I wasn't able to max my graphics out for it, so I will definitely give it another go when I have the hardware to be able to do that. Shame it ended so fast though. It feels like my pet just died or something since I finished it. I was just getting started to have fun and then THE END....WTF?!?!

Oh well, at least my graphics card is happy... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The first patch will be out some day next week.

It will increase overall performance and adress some bugs.

Ive noticed just some minor bugs in the entire game :

- Sometimes your left hand disappears after you've modified a weapon. Hit c again and will be back.

- At some points in the game you cant make any modifications on your pistol/pistols, the C just wont bring the weapon in front of you. It will still work with all other weapons.

- Some small graphic glitches like textures dissappearing for a single second. Happened only two times to me through out the game lasted really just for a second

- Changing the render and texture quality settings can screw your night vision mode up.

You will only see unsharp green surfaces.

Only a restart of the game seems to fix this.

- When jumping or being blown aside by a explosion , it sometimes (very rarely) happens that you land IN a rock. You will then be able to freely walk through it without any collision.

Ive encountered no script triggering problems at all.

So really no A-class bugs in the game http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

And dont worry, the CEO of Crytek said that Crysis was just the first game of a trilogy. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I only noticed one bug where I jumped off a high cliff and was about to die when a cut-scene saved me somehow. The whole next left I had to play with broken crippled legs that stuck out in front of me! Nomad was basically sitting on his butt the whole level and still managed to run/scoot around faster than the enemy!http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Weird!

The VTOLs need some work as well. Using the mouse and keyboard is tedious to turn one around. They need to adjust mouse sensitivity or momentum speed for when you turn around in one of them. I kept crashing into mountains or getting suck up in those tornados just outside the sphere. Plus those enemy robots were impossible to shoot down in it just about. The only time I could hit one was when they were coming straight at me!

And played at Delta level as well. Korean is a must. The end was highly frustrating, though. I hate when games pull this stuff. Nothing against a prequal, but I want a satisfying expirience, not left hanging in the air like that.

After installing Gears of War on PC last night it would NOT work. It gets to the menu screen and the buttons start to flicker around really weird.

If I hold my mouse over one of the slide bars for (mouse sensitivity) it just slides all the way to the left on its own. Really weird! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

If I just start up a new campaign the camera just spins in circles around the main game character and is completely unplayable and makes you feel quite dizzy to boot. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

What a HUGE dissappointment it's been for PC gamers lately. First we get all the **** port games that have been out on console for over a year and then when they do come to us they are bugged beyond all recognition! WTF gives? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Micro$oft or Epic need to fix this game like yesterday! Apparently I'm not the only one suffering from this as many people bought the game on release date 11/6/07 and still haven't heard a peep from either company about a patch or fix for this! This is a bad sign and if something doesn't happen within a few days, I will be sending this one back to EbGames.com

Apparently Kane & Lynch is suffering from similar problems as well so be weary of this if you plan on purchasing either one of these "Games for Windows" titles.

Amazing how Crysis ran fine out of the box and without a patch at all I was able to finish it without so much as a CTD! Just shows you who the better game developer is these days and who isn't.

And we all thought UBISoft was the only one. It appears to be a trend lately. Imagine being someone without Internet connection at all. I know most people have it, but imagine you didn't and you bought **** like this with your hard earned money. You would expect it to work flawlessly especially when you know your system hardware is more than enough to run it smoothly. Instead you end up getting the shaft and no way to patch it or make it playable.

Amazing how console games come out and are able to work right the first time right out of the box! Why can't PC games be this way? It's also surprising to me that all the reviewers for Gears of War gave it such high ratings. How is this possible when over 75% of the people on the forums are complaining about the game not even functioning? Did these reviewers get the "premium" copy or something? WTF!?! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

I will now attempt to install Call of Duty 4, and it had better work right! I don't mind if it needs to be patched right away, but as long as there's a patch available I'm cool with it. When a company like Epic or Micro$oft release a game and it doens't work and there's no patch out or in sight for that matter is when I get really pissed! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Its exactly like COD 2, pure arcade and heavily over scripted. Just some fresh graphics but still the same engine. It created more frustration than fun for me.

Crysis runs fine, but the 7950GT gets FSAA disabled no matter what I tried, even I did the DX10 thing in XP, the graphics sure got better and the game ran alright, but still no FSAA. My monitor only goes up to 1280x1024, I have the VX922 which was the 2ms LCD screen though.

I was more impressed with Far Cry 2 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I'd rather just spend time in Africa and shooting lions is better than Aliens for me. I think they are right and christmas will boost the sales. There will surely be many copies under the tree.

The immense hardware demands of Crysis may be another factor in this.

After enabling the "Very High" DX 10 setting under WinXP , some people in the community managed to activate the secret "Ultra High" settings which leave the game absolutely unplayable even on powerful dual graphics card systems.

But the screenshots they made show what the engine is really capable of and what kind of graphics we can expect in future games. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
