I have been having fun creating my own maps. I have added the Kings Mausoleum but can't figure out what it's good for. I see under properties that it's grouped, so I added a second and numbered it the same as the first... other than being nice to look at, it doesn't do anything... Am I missing something?

As far as I know it's just decoration. There used to be many "useless" decorations. You can see some in the map "playground of the gods".

There is no such thing as useless decoration. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Besides, all buildings can have a function if the mapmaker has a little imagination and is willing to do a little work.

If you look at my 2 HOMM5 maps (Seize the Throne and Shadow Dreams) you will see the King's Mausoleum used with a touch script that provides a bonus to the Haven player.

In the Heroes Community forum, rdeford gave me this simple script, to start with, for the King's Mausoleum :

Step #1 > You must select the KM structure on the map, and open its "properties tree". In the list, to the left, select the [ab] Name line and left-click on it until an empty box appears in the Value column. Type in that box a name for the KM, such as, in my example, KM1.

Step #2 > Open the Script Editor in the Map Properties. Copy/paste this :

function rewardKM(heroName)

ChangeHeroStat(heroName, STAT_MORALE, 2);

end;
Trigger(OBJECT_TOUCH_TRIGGER, "KM1", "rewardKM");

The hero will get +2 morale each & every time he touches the KM, but be warned that this a permanent boost to his stats (so don't abuse it).

It could be some other reward, but that's what I had asked rdeford, to start with.

This is a very basic script : no sound effect and no message will appear. Check your hero before and after : you will see that his morale stats will have increased from 0 to 2.

I've tested the map with a computer ally : it seems to ignore the structure.
