where is the keycard on the research level?

If you've found the cave opening that leads you out of the level, just look left up the hill along the path as you're facing it and there's a hut with a fixed mortar cannon in front of it. From where you start the level the hut is diagonally to the far left.

Here's a screenshot taken from the little hill right near the level starting point. Take note of the compass direction:
