I am new to this series and only played the demo a few days back. There, I could not go to a first person view in the single player mission. My question is --- does the full game have the first person view ? I find the firefights using OTS view very cumbersome.
Thanks in advance.

well you can't walk around in first person view but if you have guns drawn than it's first person. If that's what you wanted to know.

nope, all single player is in third person other than OTS (over the shoulder, vega) when you shoot the gun.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I don't mind walking around in third person but when I take out the gun it shows an 'over the shoulder view'. How can I change this to first person ? I am not talking about aiming using the scope but just when I draw out my gun.

there isnt a possible way, sorry. You are stuck w/ OTS when you use weapons.

Sorry to hear this bro. We should suggest this for inclusion in SC-4, as an additional view, though I guess this has already been done before.

Uuhhhhhhhh... I don't think so.
Noone's ever been bothered by that wiev until now.
BTW - you DO know that instead of shooting everything that's alive (remember those fish in SC1? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif), you can silently creep past them and KO them (or not...)? SC:CT isn't Quake for the love of God!!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

It WAS done before. I don't remember where I saw it, though. Some guy edited the .ini files of Splinter Cell 1 and when he pulled out his gun, he was like in First Person.
I think the over-the-shoulder view is fine, and in a game like SC you probably have enough time to aim anyway.

Looks like he just edited the .ini to move the camera some distance to the left, giving the illusion of FPS view. This might be possible for CT, but I'm not sure how it would react to the side switch button.

over the shoulder is probably more effective than fpv in this types of games anyways
