Yes, but you'll have all these technologies in Silent Hunter III. You'll get to equip your boat with it.
I'm interested to know what that thing is...

The round antennae was part of the enigma system I believe.

So it's a radio antenna? How come other Uboats don't have one?

You all talking about the RDFL (radio direction finding loop) >?>?

If so that is for pinpointing active transmissions with bearing from whatever vessel it maybe. As far as i remember - We used to use them in hunting annoying Citezen band users down and then cutting theyre coax cable lol (those where the days)

I think it might be of sim sorts as the ESM kit u get on modern subs. (possibly)

Little did the Allies know the secret behind this part of equipment was the fact that its real use was to cover the U-boat in foam bubbles thus disguising it as an iceberg, it wasn’t till these started popping up in the Med that the Allies grew suspicious. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In the 2nd half of the war with the increasing threat of RADAR some U-Boats where equipped with some early RWR to detect RADAR transmissions to avoid detection. They also jammed some Funkmessgeräte (German RADAR) in the boates.
