I'm considering getting the PC version b/c waiting a month and a half to play this again is ridiculous. How do the controls work? I don't play PC games regularly (just some point and click games here and there), but I heard that they make game controllers that you can plug into your PC. Is this true? Also, how large is the online community on PC? thnx

I got tired of waiting for PSN so I upgraded my computer and got myself a $9 gamepad. It works pretty well, considering it's so cheap. You'd need some time to adjust the controls and your fingers to it, like in any console case.
How large community? I don't know, really. What I can say is this: I've been playing for a week now, almost, tried 4 times for Alliance and got it twice after 15-20 mins of waiting. Similar luck with Escort and Chest Capture. Manhunt is better than that, still requires patience. Wanted differs... I guess it depends on time zone (Mine is US) and the wait time can vary from 2 mins to 5-6.

I did the same thing awhile back, been playing on the PS3 and couldn't wait any longer so I got the PC version.

So far it's probably the best thing I could've done in the situation. I use my PS3 controller with MotionJoy Gamepad tool and it works just as well as on the PS3. It was a very easy switch, even though you get Xbox360 button prompts your muscle memory takes over and the controls feel just as normal as sitting in front of your Playstation.

I've been getting into Wanted matches fairly quickly and haven't had many lag issues, even though many have reported having them. I would almost dare to say the game performs better on the PC than on the PS3 in my experience. With no "real" end in sight at the current time to the PSN debacle if you have the means to afford it and your PC can run it...go get it! Seriously quit reading this and go grab a copy, you will be knee deep in blood and dead templar bodies in a few hours. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

As long as you get back to the PS3 version when PSN is up.

I agree, no huge lag observed, unlike PS3 situation.

BTW. Played with you you last night or Saturday, it was a nice game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Have met some cool people on the PC version and always have fun in those matches.

Edit: lol If it was Saturday evening ignore those games I got a small buzz and went superpro for a few matches. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I have a Compaq Presario SR5605F (whatever that means) with a AMD Athlon LE-1640 Processor, 1GB memory, 250GB hard drive (185GB free), NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Graphics card (again, whatever that means), on Windows Vista. For those who are extremely knowledgeable about computers, would mine be strong enough to play this game?

If you buy 1 gig of memory, your computer will just meet the minimum requirements to play the game. I can't say what kind of experience you will have, but usually the minimum specs don't make the game play well, just playable.

Getting a couple of gigs more of memory may make it run smooth though.

Edit: actually you'd need a 512 mb stick to meet the minimums, but I'd still shoot for putting in the maximum amount of memory your motherboard will support.

Edit again: Actually I was right the first time. you'd need 1 more gig to make min. I looked back at the specs for a sec and accidentally looked at the Xp specs, which is 1.5.

Either way, go for the most you can put in your computer.

I use default mouse and keyboard to play, better camera control and much easier to lock the target.
I will add you Re1gn77
